Looking for your opinions here, what company do you think does the best remap?

Cheers, Mark :D

As said, everyone is going to tell you their remap is the best and the company they used are great.

Best looking what is available in your local area, and speak to the dealer for your options.

And use the search.

there aint much in it if you stick to respected remappers on here which include:

revo
custom code
APR
Jabba
P-Torque
AMD
Forge

Ive tried to put them in order of popularity, (most pop first) but this is not to say this is order of how good they are.
For example, Forge are a very respected company and im sure do a fantastic job, but did come to the party later than others and people do tend to follow others. Also some offer national coverage and others are only in house and so tend to be limited by location.

As said above, stick to this list and do some reading on this forum and you cant go wrong.

Any of the companies mentioned will be good to choose from. Just see who is local to you and go from there really.
Saying that, I did drive from the south coast to Wolverhampton to get mine remapped by Will at Performance Torque! Well worth the trip though....

+1 - Although, like Mike, I too took the drive from the south coast all the way up to see Will at P-Torque and it was definitely worth the drive.

like said before prob best to see what is around you and call a few people up and see what they have to offer. I drove all the way from cardiff up to awesome in the end for mine as i liked the idea of it being a custom map and they have been nothing but excellent to me ever since. they are on this site if you want to check them out.

anyway dont want to put any of the others down so see whats best for you and how far you are willing to travel!

All remaps tend to affect clutches, really depends on the driver though. They tend to effect the diesels a lot more than petrols due to the torque, then again it depends on how you drive the petrol :)

I have a revo dealer near me , is it true about the revo remaps breaking clutchs ?

Ive had a REVO remap from 2,000 miles and its now approaching 64,000 and still have not problems with the clutch. Its how you drive and use it.

I agree ive had my map on for ages now and its running 340lb/ft and still on standard clutch! no problems so far and i like to give give it a good boot too.

if in doubt you could always ask to have the torque held back a little to save you needing a new clutch shortly after.

where did you hear this?

do you drive petrol or diesel.

Some cars with diesels have suffered from clutch slippage after an aggressice remap, however its usuually not an issue.

Remaps will give you more power and a significant increase in torque, so if a clutch is already nearing the end of its life then im sure it wont help. But that can be said of anything really.

oh and if you are worries, run lower boost levels :)
