So does the cruise control have a too heavy right foot?

I am guessing the cruise control does not expect the response it gets?

This will suck as I use it all the time.

Also, When accelerating try to get up to speed asap and get to cruising. The longer you spend accelerating, this hugely impacts the MPG. So make short spurts to get up to speed.
Lets say you take 500 metres accelerate to 30mph, You'll use less fuel if you did it in 300 metres and start cruising as soon as you can.

dpf delete

How you doin, got my dpf delete at the weekend at the same time as chan, on the way home wasnt really impressed with the fuel consumption, got 39 at most, thought it might be cause the map was just installed, so up till now on the way to and from work ive managed 36-37mpg, which is worse than when it was standard, there seems to be a bit of a split with people getting the good mpg and others not getting it, maybe its down to the car, but if the map is the same for all cars then in theory they should all be the same.
A question to the dpf delete guys, to get your average mpg, do you reset before you leave (if its been over night you wont have to) and then just see what you get on the trip or during your trip do you reset?

If i did that i could get close to 60mpg. I do mine taking into consideration the initial acceleration from the start of the journey.

I personally do the same, I would reset it upon leaving work. Its about 4 miles onto the M1 then usually 70 miles down, then around 70 more on dual carriage ways. Speeds of around 80 - 85MPH. THis results in my stock car sitting between 39.8 and 41.9mpg on average.

Over 4000 miles, my car has averaged 39MPG. Probably more motorway miles and long journeys than short ones. I travel around 6 miles to work, and 17 miles to the birds place.

I am worrying in a way because both you and NickP have the AMD remap, where as I will have the JBS map, possibly different throttle/cruise control settings?

True. Maybe you should speak to JBS because they advertise 10-15mpg more than standard if I remember correctly. Sounds like theres something wrong with the map! :blink:
As ive said before I wouldnt get DPF delete done again. Waaaaay too much grief. Nobody seems to have really got their map right!

Wouldn't it be better to do this by filling up the tank to the brim and then calculating the MPG when you next fill up? Then you get a true reflection of your MPG.
The Trip Computer is not the most accurate thing in the world and does reset itself after so many miles.

There's nothing wrong with the engine map, it's the throttle. It's not quite progressive enough to facilitate consistent economic driving. I think it is possible to get very high mpg from the mod, but the throttle mapping is not helping as it's a little on the aggressive side. The engine map is extremely smooth, doesn't smoke very much and it pulls like a train so i'm pretty confident the engine map is fine.

Well with me being just down the road from JBS (circa 10 mins) I will be popping back to see them if I have issues. I will ask James for his views into this, and if I don't like the settings, hopefully he can tweak it for me.

I will obviously post up here, any findings or revelations! :)

There wasnt anything wrong with my map until a few weeks after I had it! Some people not for months :(

Fingers crossed my map is ok, and it starts to settle so i can get better mpg, and thanks chan, ill try they tips and let you know how i get on

First real tests with my de-dpf 49mpg is the best ive had on a long run on the M1 doing around 70-75mph with some 50mph zones. Couple of days after i got 42mpg doing around 80-90 all the way on the m1. Not bad i dont think considering how much power you have behind you.

Not yet mate...still waiting for RR day. Was messing with that Dynolitious on the iphone. Its pretty good. 2 runs, it says 0-60 in 6.32.

Anyone else had a blast with this app. according to some testing on the net its accurate to 1 thousands of a sec.

today on the way back home, 16 miles (10 motorway and 6 city) I managed 44 mpg. doing about 80 on motorway. not much traffic in city, but some stop-start. The surprising thing is that i can get better mpg in the city when there is almost not traffic than on motorway doing 80. I reckon i can get close to 50mpg if i was going 70 on motorway. I'm getting the hand of this i think. The mpg is looking more and more promising. It's definitely better than standard now, there's no doubt about that.

I did a 2 hour drive from Home (Nantwich-Cheshire) to Work (Milton Keynes)

99% of it was A500>A50>M1 And was done at 70-80mph i managed 42.4mpg

Before DPF Removal i would of managed 39mpg so its a slight improvement
