MPG for those with DPF deleted FRs

Hi guys, as the name of the thread suggests, I'm wanted to see what mpg we are getting with this mod. Also, how you are driving to achieve this.

I'm currently getting about 39-41mpg from 3 days of driving.

I reckon the mpg can be increased if the throttle mapping was less aggressive, also making it easier to cruise on manual throttle. What do you guys think? and suggestions?

I used to Manage 40-41 on Motorway driving im now managing around 42mpg but... i do find myself playing with other cars quite abit more

I managed the other day to get 47mpg on a 11 mile drive, getting used to the throttle response etc now so hopefully will increase

Not directly answering your question as still got my DPF at the moment until the 12th April.

But, standard i get between 36-38 everytank no matter what the weather. I had it mapped before (back to standard due to de-dpf booked in) and when mapped i was getting 32-34 per tank every tank. so not good really when i had a remap.

Hoping for the same as standard or better (hopefully) when dpf removed.

As for throttle response is it really that bad as ive heard you mention it a few times?

its not that bad! it just takes some getting used to ive nearly gotten used to it now

I describe it as more like driving a Cupra Petrol than a Diesel

The throttle response is necessarily bad, as even the smallest of touches can cause to car to take off like shite of a shovel.

But as Andrew has mentioned it's very much like driving a petrol. And it does take some getting used.

My mpg is pretty b****cks. A lot of people will say that is down to your driving but i can guarantee that is not always the case, on the way to the last meet i never went above 65 on the motor way and was stuck behind slow moving trafic for 20 miles and only just managed 40 mpg, im raging between mid to late 30's just now:( And on a spirited run managed to get into late teens! I think Mr Chan got it spot on though, and also explains my power esuls i think my turbo boost is up higher than usual.... All in all 50 mpg is a fairy tale!:headhurt:

So you are saying your MPG has suffered quite a bit since having the DPF delete done?

Im looking at taking mine in v. soon for DPF AND Engine Emissions lights! :(
If SEAT come up with a corker, and tell me the DPF isnt going to be covered under warrantly, Im having it removed!! [:@]

It could be the DPF being full, but more than likely its the DPF Pressure Sensor acting up!

If I get a nice motorway drive at 70-75mph I will get around 48-49mpg. If below 70, say 50-60 can easily get above 50mpg on long trips.

Driven hard it will drop to low 30's, well worth every penny thou.

Yes it does sound like quite a transformation! Infact NOT like a Diesel at all! :D
For me, it will come down to how SEAT handle my engine issues/dash lights tomorrow.

Although reading a few teething issues, on the whole, removing the DPF is nothing but a "remedy", with a very nice performance increase to go with it. :)

NickPs results after a computer reset then 10 minutes at 70mph....

SNC00044-vi.jpg

Me want!

Also he's the only one left I think who has had an AMD De-DPF delete, the rest have returned to stock.

Lee Noble (N0ble on here) has posted numerous threads about it, and he also gets into the 50's easily. His was done at JBS.

I still have AMD map on but its just gone tits up again. Speaking to Oscarli right now about getting their map put on. Sounds promising.
NickP is getting shocking mpg since having AMD's new map a few weeks ago. He was saying max. 40mpg I think!!!
When mine isnt trying to regen I can get 55mpg on a reasonable run doing 65-70. Once got 59 but that was a long run with a LOT of 50mph speed limit :p

Oh sorry dude, I thought you had thrown the towel at it with all the issues you had been having.

That sucks for NickP, max of 40 isn't very good. 55mpg at 65-70 is more than I get stock, so an extra 5mpg would be great for me. Have you got this new map on? Is this there attempt to map out the random tries to Regen?

What is this "Oscarli" map? Do tell us more!

todays average, going to work and back. 16miles each way 10 on motorway doing 70-75 and 6 doing lots of stop-start in traffic and i'm getting 41mpg. Not too bad tbh. when doing just above 70 the real time mpg gauge was saying 55mpg. So a longer MWay run could take this up.

I'm still experimenting as i believe i can get the fuel consumption down. I'll share a report soon. I might do a long trip during the weekend or my 3 days off next week to see how much can be milked from these things.

So far the car has be at least as fuel efficient if not a little better than before.

I'm considering a 200 odd mile return drive to newcastle. I have a 3 day weekend for my shift so times not really an issue atm (also with wife being away is a factor :p). This should give a good idea of how to get the best out of the fuel economy.

Heads up, I have found I can get better fuel economy with manual throttle control over cruise control. However, this is with very delicate throttle work due to the sensitivity of the throttle(very responsive).

Agreed chan i find the exact same thing! The throttle respons only needs to be rested on very gently and sitting at steady speed gives more mpg than cruise control:funk:
