Hi guys, i have recently started getting noises when i run over any bumps on the left side, the noise itself sounds metalic (kind of like having a toolboox rattling in boot)

The noise seems to be coming from the top left side near the wheel. Any ideas what it could be? i'm guessing its something to do with suspension

Strut mount bearings seized/worn, just had this done under warranty on my car and the sound you are getting sounds like the one i had.

Depending how accurate your decription of the fault is, it could be the ARB that has failed as your car is old enough to have had the ones with the plastic end stops. If this is the problem, then yes get all the sensible changes done to save money in the future as the cross member is dropped to replace the ARB and again to replace the TCA rear bushes. You should head for your nearest VAG indie specialist and get them to use the Cupra TCA rear bushes. One way to check the ARB is to reach in and grab the ARB and try to pull it side to side. Use search here and on www.briskoda.net - include the words ARB and you should find some pictures and more tips on what to look for etc.

Like Hartosh1 mine was making a metallic rattle, turned out drivers side spring was broken, I only found out when I jacked it up to have a look and about 2/3 of a coil fell out onto my garage floor. I'm just glad it didn't happen on the motorway!

Did it sound a bit like a tool box rattling at all? If so I think you've found the problem :)

Any ideas how much it will cost me? If its a lot it may be worth me getting some new bushes at the same time

Right, got it sorted

Turns out it was a suspension spring which part of it was broken off

Thought i'd mention it incase anybody else has the same problem :)
