Hey all,

I've searched through the other threads, and people seem to have their Iphones paired with their cars no problem.

Just tried mine the now, and it wont detect the cars bluetooth.

Swapped to another phone, and it works perfectly.

Is there a specific knack to getting them paired or is it just the standard apple being a pain in the ass.

Also the usb port doesnt seem to work with the iphone cable, is there a set cable you need, or is it just not iphone friendly?

Cheers!

(its the 09 facelift model with communications system)

What version of firmware is running on the iPhone? There is a compatibility list for bluetooth which shows software version needed for each phone to work correctly? Also does the phone pair with another car or Bluetooth device like a laptop?

Iphone firmware is 3.1.3 (latest i believe)

It pairs to my motorolla handsfree kit, just refuses to like the leon built in bluetooth.

My samsung however will pair to the leon no problem.

Just wondering if its all 3g phones or if 3g S is the same or will work.

Guess i'll need to find other people with 3G iphones to check.

For the compatability list, i wasn't able to find one for the leon at all, very little details seem to be available on it on the best of days.

Hmm, so does everyone have the 3GS then or are some getting it to work on the standard 3G?

Don't really want to change to the GS yet as im sure a new one will be out soon!

The model of phone shouldn't be an issue when I bought my car one of the salesman had an Iphone 3G and it paired with his company Leon without problem.

I'm sure I read somewhere the iPhone has a slightly different Bluetooth stack to the rest of the market which might explain the disconnects

Hmm strange, I'd have blamed the bluetooth fullstop on my phone if i knew it didnt pair with the motorolla hands free, but the fact that it pairs with that is a little odd.

however i can definately get other phones to pair with the car which confuses me even more...

Dammit, why does any problem that involve technology not have a proper answer :)

It works fine with my 3G running 3.1.3, but I've got the Seat Media System in my car so not sure if that makes any difference.

Warwickshire once.
My 3GS connects no problem and does the disconnect/reconnect thing randomly.

The issue I have at the moment is getting an extension lead "that works" to connect from the IPOD dock below the seat to allow the IPOD to sit in the front cupholder to allow for passenger selection of tunes on the move rather than removing the phone from the dock to change to something you actually want to listen to.

Nope Media system is just an interface often an update will get the bluetooth to work if it is being funny. Seems latest software/update has cure the problem.
