Just a bit of advice please!

My leon will unlock fine with the remote, and relock itself after 25 seconds or so as it should do...but it also relocks even if I open the drivers door.

If i'm not quick enough, it's usually relocking just as i'm putting the key in the ignition, so when i then turn the key, the alarm sounds briefly (half a second or so) before the engine starts.

I'm just wondering if there's a switch in the door somewhere thats sticking?

Hey mate.

Chances are that your drivers side door lock mechanism may need replaced.

I have experienced similar symptoms.

Also had the joy of all windows going down randomly and staying open with the alarm still activated.
Driver door locks and unlocks when driving along with the hazard lights going off (as if you are pressing the keyfob). Then the drivers side window decided to die on me.

Fitted a new window regulator and got the drivers side door lock sorted and I have not encountered it since (touch wood!).

Hope that helps

thanks mate, you don't happen to have part numbers for those do you?

Typical isn't it, just after i've forked out for the timing belt, brakes, a service and insurance!!!

The relocking is a feature of the alarm, it assumes that you've pressed the unlock button accidentally and so it locks the doors again. It is disarmed by opening the door, so as super cupra says, its the door lock mechanism.

However, if you're feeling enthusiastic, someone posted a how-to on here, linked to a VW Passat owne who opened up their door lock to find some badly soldered connections. A quick reflow and he saved a few bob on getting a new door lock.

If I manage to get hold of my other laptop I'll link to the link of the link to the how-to.
