ok i have searched to no avail

In the handbook and on certain early leons if you have the mirrors selected at drivers side , when you go to reverse the passenger mirror dips to kurb

now mine doesnt do this , surley its just the paremeters / adaptations thats different

Can anyone confirm

im also looking into whether the rear wipe convenience is available

Markwales's Mrs Golf does it and heres isnt anything special like a GTTDi

so were based on the golf again surely just need to know what adaptations to change

thanks

Andrew

If you work it out let me know. I'd be very interested to do this to mine. Do we just need to find the correct channel?could it be in 07-recode?

I thought the selector had to be on the 'passenger' side for the passenger mirror to point downwards? I'll have to check mine later!

The rear convenience wipe is listed on the forum in one of the how-to's, admittedly my Toledo does make the rear convenience wipe a bit pointless so I've never tried it.

Sorry, I did check after posting that message, and you were right the first time. The mirrors only move when you have it on the drivers side and engage reverse.

However, what I did notice that while mine used to go all the way to the ground, it now only moves half an inch. In fact, if I hadn't been watching really closely, I might not have noticed it move at all. So it looks like mine has now done the same as yours. I tried adjusting it and pressing the memory button, but it made no difference. So I'm now as flummoxed as you!

Alrite si. Cheers for yesterday. I should have asked wile I was there but is it possible to get my passenger mirror to do this....as it doeesnt now. What I'd really like is if someone could make my mirrors fold in and out off my key fob!

I've got to figure out why mine has stopped working, or at least only works a little bit. Once I figure out how to get it moving again I'll post a how-to, unless someone beats me to it!

I don't know about the mirrors folding on the keyfob, the earliest car I've heard having that was an 06 plate. I hope someone can prove me wrong though.

I tried activating the same thing on my MK5 golf ( passenger mirror lowers when in reverse)
I ticked the box nothing happened, and the VCDS said about memory seats needed to been installed?

status subject to change
how come the older mk1's (first made , had them even though never had electric seats

early cupras did have electric memory seats.

I wasnt aware that some that did nto have memory seats had the dipping mirror option.

When setting up the dipping mirror action on a car with electric memory seats you set it/save it via the seat memory.. i am not aware how you would 'save' the position otherwise.

post #12 appears to back me up.

no one worked this out yet

was browsing the guides section and this description was there on info base for leons

MIRRORS:
Early cars had dipping rear view mirrors to aid parking. To activate these ,1. Start Car and put car into reverse.2. Turn mirror control to the passenger side, 3. Set mirror to desired position, low so you can see the kerb area for parking. 4. Switch it back to the Drivers side.5. Take out of reverse. NOTE:You must leave the control knob switched to the drivers' side for it to work. This feature was deleted in mid 2001
