AP coilovers

Sorry for the probably simple question but i think i will be purchasing these coilovers in the next couple of months.

You don't NEED but I would suggest putting new top mounts and bearings in at the same time.

Also has the advantage that you can build the new front units completely and just swap them over on the car.

Agreed, and they're so cheap, it would be daft not to.

Off topic, Deano - what suspension mods do you run. You seem to be the first person on here who sounds sensible about suspension

On the road car - absolutely standard except corrected camber.

I get my handling fix by playing with the suspension on my Honda Blackbird - haha

Through work I get involved in motorsport - part time for a Dakar rally team and part time for an F3 racing team.
We also sponsor NASCAR in the USA and I have spent quite an amout of time in the NASCAR pits with the mechanics.

Also used to be a rally car navigator (10 years ago)

Nice one thanks, where abouts do i get them and do i go standard Seat parts? I wont be fitting them myself so would need to find someone to fit them too if you know anyone in the cambridge/peterborough area?

I don't know whether this will help, but the Toledo version that I'm looking at is £372.81 on the AP website, DPM performance offered me a price of £301.70 inc VAT and delivery. Might be worth dropping them a line...

If I was going to play with the Ibiza - I would probably go the same way I went with the Nova GTE.

Koni top adjustable dampers and -30mm Eibach springs.
The koni's are old school non gas dampers but they have a concistency that I like in suspension.
-30mm is enough not to trash the ride quality or throw the geometry way out.

Thinking about it - I would probably look for a set of OEM cupra springs to go on my 130 TDi Sport
and add the top adjustable koni's

I have the AP ones, great coilovers after having TA Technix garbage which I basically gave away to another fellow after 2 months of having them in.

those arre the wrong coilovers mate, you need 6L http://www.apcoilovers.com/ap_coilover_details.php?id=653

when i fitted mine i changed the top mounts and bearing too, got mine from SERE MOTORS for £40 (only need front two as backs don't need them) i also got new standard drop links which were about £20 as my old ones where knocking. you don't need shorter drop links like you do with other brands like v-maxx.

theres a great bit of kit mate, you want be disappoined

Yeh i noticed that after contacting DPM, thanks for all your help guys, i shall pop into my local dealers and get all the bits you mentioned and get them fitted the same time as the coilovers go on. Do i need to prep them at all to stop rusting/seizing?

put loads of copper grease on them, it does a great job. when i put my new brake disc's on the other day, the coilovers were filthy but when you run your finger over where you have put the copper grease they look brand new. i haven't got the adjuster cup on the back because i wanted them as long as possible but if your keep them on, put loads on them too
