Tyre mould marks still there after 100s of miles

Took the car to el dudes to get the brakes pressure bled yesterday (last thing that needed doing after the refurb) and when we took the wheels off I noticed that the mould join is still there on the middle of the tyres (F1 GSD3s). My first thought was "wow, these really don't wear quickly", but that was soon replaced with "crap, there's something wrong".

Had these put on at the beginning of December, and I've probably done about 1000 miles on them since, so this isn't right, is it? What am I looking at?

Umm... all honesty, not checked them since they were fitted; was planning on doing so this week while I'm off work. What do you recommend?

Thats probably why. Whenever I've had new tyres and later checked the pressure they are far higher than they should be due to the fitter putting a lot in there to seat the bead.

IIRC on the LCR they should be 32PSI

I have just replaced my front gsd3's. Was advised to run 30PSI in the fronts and 28PSI in the rears. However the old fronts were worn out in the middle which points to over inflation.

I checked my tyre pressures monthly and purchased a decent gauge as it was shocking to find out how far out foot pump, petrol station pump and in car electric pumps read.

I am now trying 28PSI all round, Does that sound to low?

it does sound too low; I normally run 33psi front and rear, as do many others.

32 or 34 psi is what I put in all round and tyres wear perfectly even. You got a pic at all of the mould marking on your tyre mate. As this is puzzling me

Sorry guys, had a really busy day yesterday so was unable to follow up on this. I'll see if I can get something sorted later. The Mrs is going out and leaving me with the baby for a few hours, so it'll most likely be after that.

The tyres Im running are: Faulken's 225/45ZR17 94W

I am running 33 PSI on both front and back.

I ve heard that Seat's have a reputation for a hard ride - but mine is rediculous!!

Does anyone have any ideas of tyre pressure? The ride is really uncomfortable and Im feeling every bump!!!

(Tracking is fine and just changed front tyres, but the ride has been bad for a few months)

Any help would be great!

33psi is correct. Suspension could be worn out OEM? Or do you have aftermarket fitted?

Its factory set up.

Its getting to the point where Im considering binning the car.....

Would it be worth a four wheel alignment?? :(

How many miles has the car done? Where abouts are you based? Could get another Leon driver to give you a second opinion; mine is on coilies and isn't that bad ride wise!

Live down in the South West (Taunton)

I know the winter was harsh on the roads but down here they are.......:censored:

Autodata recommends 29psi At the front and 27psi at the rear I find this works perfectly for me with no uneven wear

For what wheel size? Seat recommend 33psi all round for LCR..it even says it inside the fuel cap!

As Cunners said over inflation leads to wear in the middle but under inflation leads to wear on the edges which could be your problem.
