I'm in the middle of creating a set of white dials for the mk1 non facelift cupra, as im sure many others have been getting rather chuffed off as we cannot buy any for our motor

Please bear in mind it wont be finished till tomorrow but im looking for some ideas or things i might be missing, i know the center light cluster has to go in (epc, lights, tcs, esp, etc.etc) that will go in last. Thanks.

Yeah, making from scratch based on the original template, if it works out ok i'll whip one up for you.

I'd kinda like black ones.

so did i but i couldn't shake the thought that white clocks would look better in the red leons, and i feel i proved myself right, white dash looks far better in the red cupra imho.

OK, understood. I was under the impression from your earlier post that it wasn't possible.

Oh ok, what i mean is there in no aftermarket dials for the pre facelift leon cupra 160mph clocks if you wanted to go white, the only option you have is LCR or facelift LC clocks but you need to buy the cluster and unless you are really lucky they cost a mint.

You can get custom ones from skewer, I have them fitted in my Toledo and I know Leon owner Ptar64 currently has a set waiting to fit.

What material are you making them from? To get the proper effect at night you really need to use the correct material and build them up in layers so the leds only pick out what they're meant to otherwise they may look awful. I bought some of the e-bay ones but ended up going to skewer to get a proper set. Most of it is documented in this thread if anyones interested.

it was that thread that gave me the idea in the first place. I have been in touch with skewer on having your template done with a little difference to it. I understand the basis on how to do these, i used to do proofing for a graphic printing company in my past life, crap job lol.

If it dosent work then skewer will make up my clocks from my template.

:D OK good luck mate. It would be great if you can come up with something like the skewer ones and your template looks excellent.

That's what i did, used the white LCR dials and put them on my LC clocks.
They look good David, as long as you don't get any bleed through, they should look good.

Cheers mate, if i do it correct it should not get the bleed (hopefully) im off to get the materials now and then speak nicely to my mate at my old works and borrow the cnc machine and figure how to set the layers correct.

As a graphic designer, I'd say it needs a little work!

Seat logo is squashed.

Font is a bit naff. Stock font is Frutiger Bold.
