2nd thread start of the day for me!!

recently when on part throttle i can hear air being sucked in and kindof sounds like tsssh then holds on part throttle then dumps then holds etc hard to explain but on full throttle hard revs it holds fine just sounds loud and intermittant sometimes? if that makes sense at all. kind of sounds like darth vader on speed

full throttle i get a whistle noise aswell like turbo whistle but theres definate hesitansy low revs.

anyone else get this or can explain better please?

Yep I had excatly the same problem [hesitansy low revs] when I fitted my FMIC.

According to JabbaSport it was because the intercooler and exhaust made the system so free flowing the turbo was trying to spool up on the slightest bit of throttle but the ECU map was pulling it back.

well i think ive found the issue.... started missfiring quite badly on hard revs, when i unplug the maf, hard revs no missfire and hesitancy gone.

so im guessing the maf is shot, low g/s on my recent logs aswell.

weird how this causes missfire though, maybe coils on way aswell.

pulls like a train again when the maf isnt plugged in.

Greesha ran 226 bhp on sunday so hard to say why it's laggy. Our graphs were very different

No James i had no chance to re-log yet.

What do you mean by low MAF readings. I was getting 178 lately not sure what is a good reading for a stage 1 LC.

Mylo i think that those RR results were very optimistic (225? ;D) . Anyway i was comparing my graph to my old one and torque is lower all the way...

I've checked MAF yesterday - seems fine. All IC pipes tight. New MAP sensor inside. No idea.

178 is right for mapped lc mate, maf will be fine.

mine is shot causing the ecu to think not enough air so underfuels casuing it to run lean.

James i remember that you were saying that you have a strange wooshing sound from the area of inlet manifold. Was something wrong with that ?
