My mates looking at getting a ST and getting the mountune package 260PS, 0-60mph 5.9secs, 0-100mph 14.1secs, well so it states anyway.. which sounds pretty quick

Just wondering say for instance if we went against each other at Santa Pod for a run how my Stage 1 would compare.. I know I have more BHP but just wouldn’t like to get beaten lol. Anyone know?

Top gear tested the mountune st against an st with apparently 290bhp and the mountune won everytime, so they are quick,

Oh and if i remember that evo mag tested a mountune st against the new RS and it had something like 280bhp and 380lbft or around that, which was more than what the RS had when RR'd

if it was povertys car compared against the ST then pov would take it every time :p , i mean any car which is faster than the millenium falcon has to be quicker than an ST

but real world very close , the way the torque is used on the ST is very impressive , I ould not underestimate them tbh.

No way if you can't go past a stage 1 ST with ease you just can't drive. Stage 1 cupra isn't far behind a rs4. Stage 1 ed30 with dsg would be quicker. If your ever down London for a weekend I can take you to the local strip and you can see what your car is actually capable of.

Cupra would be quicker - more power + less weight = no brainer

ST may have more torque, but probably not that much more.

There is a santa pod trip on the 28th where there are a few scn people going to. The other strip is area 51 ;)

Just for reference,

Stage 1 cupra is quicker than a evo fq330 rolling from 30mph. Cupra with map and pump only is only a little slower than the new m3. M3 driver was so shocked he jumped in the cupra afterwards to see what its like.

So this ST stuff? So you buy a standard ST and where do you get the remap from and how much does it cost?

Code:Red

Superchips / Bluefin

Dreamscience

or Mountune (if you want to keep your warranty)

Cost you from £300 up to £110 for the Mountune, though the MT includes intercooler & air filter and installation / warranty cover.

With just a remap, you're looking at somewhere from 260bhp to 270bhp depending on RR / air temps etc. (standard IC is sh*t).

MPG improves slightly, but you're looking mid to high twenties at best.
