Hey gents, im a newbie to the site and would like your ideas. Im in NI and the car scene over ere is all corsas n clios so i need some suggestions from you guys over the water. Iv a mk3 ibiza vibe that so far has had m3 mirrors, wind deflectors, cupra skirts, double spoiler and i just added 17"toyota mr2 wheels.

Wana know what else i cud do 2 make it stand out?

How would i fit a sub?

And theres a bit of noise/vibrations past 60 since i put the wheels on and im wonderin if i got the wrong spriggot rings for the wheels??

Any help appreciated

urm.....:banned:

most people here like keeping the car quite tastefully modded and not sticking m3 mirrors on their cars.....

if you want to make your car stand out make it yellow.

if you use the search button you will find a very useful thread i created myself on how to install an audio system in your car..

if you want to make your car stand out even more... paint it pink and write 'im gay' down the side. as that will make you stand out

there are loads of 1.4's on here that have been modded..
mine was one of them before i returned it to near standard and sold it! ..

this is what it looked like just before she went... (nothing like a little ***** of my old car ;))

everything was done to look subtle and cupra esque but not cupra look alike if that makes sense.

Oh my Oh my :banghead:

PLEASE DO NOT USE TEXT SPEAK!!!!

Back on topic. my car in the above pictures had 130k on the clock at the time and it is using standard bumpers but of course i have modified them a little to get that look.

the cupra wheels came with the car... (please dont get rs8 reps.. :censored:)
the side skirts where from a 1.6 and then painted / fitted. total of £200
front bumper (i cut it myself) then got the lower part sprayed (£80)
rear bumper (sprayed and cut for £120)
Coilovers where £300
rear spacers 20mm , £40

so go get your car looking 'like mine' £740... and i did that over 2 or so years.

i did also have the rare cupra r interior in mine and that cost me mega money.

climb in to the boot and rip the plastic trim off the boot (dont forget to unscrew the few screws) the look for the lock mech and grease the contacts. and it will work again

Thanks

I'll have a go at that over the weekend, been a real pain ripping the parcel shelf out to get stuff in/out of the boot.

Think i'll start pricing the mods you mentioned, might save a bit of dough by spraying them myself, one of the few skills I learned when i owned a bike.

With the 40mm spacers do you have to buy larger wheel nuts? does the wider track improve handling?

the spacers where 20mm per side. i got the ones that bolt to your hub, they you bolt your wheel to the spacer. make sure you get hubcentric ones though.

for the boot fix, have a look in the ibiza mk3 faq forum as someone did a complete write up on the boot fix.

Thanks

Adam R, the boot is fixed and better than ever if not a little tricky to do, (need smaller hands), so thanks for that. Just wondering if you know what size the hub is on a mk3 4 stud ibiza as i am looking sprigot rings?

i got 70bhp out of mine.. and i did these mods to it.

i found an exhaust from a scrappy (Maniflow exhaust) and fitted it to the car... it was only the back box.

i changed my engine oil every 10k miles...

I used petrol.

seriously, the 1.4 ISNT fast accelerating. the best thing to do is know how to drive by getting the cars poise through corners etc.

or do what i did and remove the following items:

Front Passanger seat
Rear bench and back
Spare wheel & tools.
remove any audio you have in the car.

doing the above is quite interesting and it really does make a difference by removing the huge weight from the car.

judging by the amount of money your spending on this car you need to get your head screwed on.

a cheap 1.4 Will NOT BE FAST. dont make it look like a sheep in wolfs clothing.
save your money from what you would be 'modding' and go and buy a saxo 1.6, chop your springs and put neons on it and that will b a class motor!
