How many LCRs?

Just a quick question - any idea how many LCR 225s were originally available to the UK?

I ask because I almost never see one on the road, but the dealership where I bought mine currently has two sat on the forecourt!

They're pretty rare when compared against the Focus ST and the like. I can go for months with seeing none and then i'll find 5 of them withing 1/2 a mile, sadly they're all normally shopping wagons, unwashed and with kerbs wheels :(

I've read a lot of material online about the Leon Cupra R, if I remember correctly about 500 of the 1000 cars built each year made it to the UK, so I make it about 2000 LCRs in the UK since 2002, perhaps only around 1250 of the 225BHP models (introduced mid-2003).

Until recently I'd only seen a handful of LCRs on the road, now seeing them more frequently around Aylesbury but this place seems to be a bit of a hotspot for performance motors :)

As I left my girlfriends flat this morning to get into my LCR there was another one parked across the road (it's always there) and another one in the street across from hers. Later, on the way to work there was another red one like mine directly behind me so including my own I saw four in the space of an hour, within a radius of about 1/2 a mile.

There's a nice grey one that parks in my work car park and I saw a silver one about an hour ago driving past the other way and another silver one alongside me at a roundabout yesterday morning.

These are all Mk1's - there's a couple of Mk2's in the office car park right now too. So yeh, I think Aberdeen has a disproportionately high number of LCRs!

oh, btw - think I read something somewhere that there were 833 LCR 225's sold in the UK in the first year they were on sale - not sure how many years they ran for (about 2 or 3?) but that's probably something like 1500-2000 of that particular model in the UK?

And how many of those are still standard?:D

Quite interested to know this actually (maybe should do a poll) as I was surprised how few people volunteered for the EVO shoot I did a couple of weeks ago

on autotrader there are quite a few standard LCR's so there are plenty of owners who arent enthusiasts.

Do you have to modify to be an enthusiast?:p:D

Would be interesting to put a figure on it - if only so I can pretend I have a really rare example :D

i wonder if this are actually standard though. i was told mine was standard until i went for a map and found it had already been done.

ive noticed there a lot more LCR's down my way for a start there was only 3or4 and i knew them but more and more are popping up. thing is its a nice looking, good car and fairly well priced. and now they are bringing the newer model out we will probably see a price fall in these. shame really cus personally i dont like the look of the new one.
