Hello,

Just put a new headunit into my 05Reg Ibiza FR - all good and now I can use my Ipod, but it sits slightly loose which isn't a huge problem just irritating.
Will this work?

Cheers,

i dont know, i cant get the link to work.....
maybe its me, but if ya post the correct link i will have a look and get back to you.

you wont need one of those as they are made for a mk1 leon which has a wider standard haed unit.. mk4 ibiza is just a standard din slot so you should be able to make ur head unit fit if you play about with it a bit. theres not a huge amount of space for wires at the back so maybe they are stopping it sitting in properly?

Well, didn't need the hacksaw just had to hit the bloody thing a few times until it went in! But it sits flush now and looks pretty good :D

Just need to remember to take the head unit and Ipod with me when I park now.

I fitted my Alpine headunit no problem.

I put the wires up out the way at the top left hand side, and left only two wires in the way. The wiring loom for the radio and the aeriel antenna.

After that the headunit slides in no problem... I'll can easily pull the wires back down from the back of the dashboard if needs be.

Removing the top half of the glovebox helps too... most aftermarket headunits will come with their own wiring loom so hiring all the wires up out the way in the dashboard saves space and causes less of a hassle. :)

Does the Alana head unit have any sort of cage or does it just slot in the DIN hole?

i ordered a avic d3 double din touch screen :).. thats not gunna be fun to fit with all the plastics behind should be a fun filled day lol

Fun and frustrating no doubt ;)

I had considered the Pioneer D3 as the Hub of my ICE install, however the major drawback with the D3 is it's single disc slot, meaning that you continually need to switch between the navigation DVD-ROM and other media discs to make use of all the unit's features! :( Not fun!

yes but for £100 u can get a 10 disc dvd changer for it.. and its got memory nav so once the route is set u don't need the disc anymore..

Yes sounds good, but for the price of that unit I could buy (and would expect) a unit that comes equipped with a multi-changer as part of the package ;) ...and use the £100 squid you'd save on something else.

well u say that but whats better than pioneer?? and buying one from america like i have worked out only 350 quid fair enough u can buy a ripspeed one from halfords for 200 pound but its just not as gd..

I got a cheapy kenwood for mp3s and i've put it in but it's in without the cage and would easily pull out, does everyone use their cage?

Or i suppose i could wrap a few layers of tape around it to keep it snug lol.
