Hi All,

I phoned my local tyre (independent) place today, great peeps used them all the time.

My car came with Goodyear F1 Assymetrics on them all round. The fronts have worn down quickly (7months) and require replacement asap.

I rang the tyre place and they said they would need to speak with their supplier as not on their tyre list (had gsd3's, excellance etc etc)

Any how, he rang back and said the supplier said they had been recalled! Especially my size, thats why they have no stock and don't list them!

Camskill are also out the 225/40/18's as well!

Anyone heard about this?

Also if I don't get these, what tyres would people recommend to completement my rear assymetrics???

Help!!!!

Rich

Fit the asymmetrics to the front and new tyres to the rear.

As for the rear take a look at the magazine reviews on these.

From memory

Michelin PS2
Hankook EVO v12's
Dunlop MAXX TT
Also Toyo R1r's

Cross off T1-R, the Leon isn't a fan of their soft sidewalls and a double entry feel to a corner from the rear is none too pleasant.

I've used Falken FK452 and really can't fault them this side of £100, I prefer them to T1-Rs. Very grippy, good wet traction and great in the summer however, GY Assy's are better but that's why you pay £120 each. Never cut corners when buying tyres, Falken may seem too cheap but they perform very very well.

I see you've already chosen them :)

My other point on the post was about the F1 assymetrics being recalled!

Googled and theres some stuff about them in USA being recalled! Interesting....out of stock at camskill for sure!

yeah I had seen that :) hmmmm oh well will put assymetric from back on front and get the falkens put on the back then.

I think 452's are directional but the assymentrics are...assymetric, but that shouldn't cause any issue as long as the same type are on the opposite axel i guess?
