Hi all

Around this time last year i had 2 new F1's fitted to front of car. Recently its started spinning even when giving it a bit of right foot so checked them out only to find they're down to the wear markers already :-o.

Car only does approx 6k a year and have'nt hammered it around that much. I may have lost a bit in the bad weather but unless the Mrs has been an a few secret track days where's the tread gone?? Thought F1's were meant to be the dogs danglers?

What do you recommend next?

Cheers

F1's are good for grip, but fairly soft! 6k is still low though,so i'd go for a full alignment on the wheels around £50 - £60 (Not just tracking),found mine way out when i tested it,and tyres don't seem to wear much mow!
Dunlop sp 9000's seem to wear and grip well, thats what i'm running now! :)

Nothing should wear that amount under normal driving conditions, so maybe "not hammered it that much" was way too much.

Thanks all. Will get alignment checked and price up some Dunny's.

Cheers

Ignore the oldtimers comments, he's a judgmental :w4nk:

I had my Altea 4 wheel aligned on a brand new pukka 4 wheel alignment machine - proper job, it was set to the middle of the tolerances recommended by Seat - no difference! I spoke to the guys at the Seat dealer & they now set the rear end up on maximum positive camber setting (which is still quite negative!) - tyres all round were wearing much better after & no howling from the back end after 4k miles on the new tyres! I was getting 10-12k miles from my Altea 2.0tdi 140 & I wasn’t paying for them or the fuel!! I'm sure if it were my car, etc, it would be possible get another few thousand again.
