Not sure the Fr TDI is worth the money?

I have had my 1.6tdi for 3 months and really like it, yes it has its niggles but what car doesnt!. Anyway, i generally change my car every year to 18 months and was just thinking how much i would love the FR tdi next. However, is it really worth 4 grand more than my than my car? I would like a fast petrol ideally, but I do over 20k miles a year so need a diesel! Is the car 4 grand better than the 1.6?

As nobody's driven it IIRC... I will guess the same as the rest & say 'no'

£4k is a lot.. and it would have to offer something more than a bit of poke.

If you do 20k a year, and change often I'd be looking at residuals and GFV - as well as being a lot more comfy

well i have just ordered a 2L TDI FR :)

IMO it is worth it simply for the fact that the fr has a lot more as standard, which makes up for a "portion" of the cost. It looks fairly stunning to me :) I have a 1.4 petrol SC sport atm, but fancy something a little more sporty.

Going to test drive it as soon as they have the sample motor in :D

I will be recouping about £55 per month in fuel costs with the TDI FR. Helps towards paying for the car :p

I did look into the cupra, but without a deisel option, it put an end to that idea.

I travel 20 miles to work and 20 miles back every day, plus a lot of social traveling, so needed the better mpg.

I have to agree, I have been waiting ages for FR TDi to come out and then the price is rediculous, compare that to a demo fr tdi and there isn't a decision to be made - LEON FR without doubt!

The price is ridiculous! well overpriced in the uk. I have been eagerly awaiting this car and it`s just too much.
I read that the battery is now in the boot?? which is a bit odd too.....

Price may be more than the leon, but will keep its residual value (sorry about spelling) a lot better, as the new leon is coming out very soon...

This is only my opinion, i was willing to pay the extra cash for it, some people arent, thats what makes everyone different :)

I dont think there is a confirmed date yet, they must be thinking late 2010 early 2011?

even so, in less than 12 months, the value of the leon is going to plummet.

I really dont think the new Leon will be out until next year! there is nothing in any mag about it unless i missed something? can anyone else find anything about the new Leon?
Anyway the current Leon in fr tdi guise is a great car, if i had a choice between the ibiza and leon fr tdi's i prob would have the Leon!
I think the Ibiza has always had a better residual than the Leon, not sure why? it seems the bigger seat's get the less money they retain?
