This is mine running 215/35 18s on an 8 inch wide rim with a 35mm offset.
Its lowered 45mm on OMP springs and doesnt rub, scrub or handle badly at all. It actually gives a smaller rolling radius than the standard Cupra setup, go figure!
Only problem is that on full lock the wheel rubs the turret. But then it does that on the 16s so must be due to the lowereing kit. (Anyone else come across this?)
Doesnt show how low it is in this pic due to the angle but hey-ho. Please excuse the graphics it was used as an ad-car for a local club for a while!

Ha ha figured it out. I like the wheels i really think they suite the car. What do u think
looking at this picture though the back looks abit high. May be because the handbrake is on i don't know but the back sits abit lower than that
and it is still on the standard springs.

that looks great mate, honestly i love it, i wanted them in 18s with the black insides, how much did the alloys set you back?

£550 with tyres and 4wheel alignment and they even filled them with nitros but love them the only thing is the centre caps were VW ones
so didn't put them in should be getting mine 2moz though

To be honest i wasn't sure about about them at first but when them put them on to see what they were like i liked them. At first i was looking at the black R8 alloys but they didn't look rite on the car

Not that i can tell no. It's quiet strange the car doesn't feel as nippy out of bends but it runs longer through the gears and you get abit more speed out of each gear. But defo helps to put the power down as was struggling as it has 320 ftl/bs and the 16's just use to spin for fun.
is your car remapped? i have a tdi FR remapped and on the standard 17s it just spins mad styles after 2500 revvs, all the way up, i thought some heavier 18s might stop that or atleast decrease it. makes sense to get more power down, as 18s would have bigger contact patch with the ground, wider etc.

yep it remapped and a couple of other engine bits it's 195 bhp and the 16's couldn't cope was thinking about 17's at first but got a good deal on the 18's so decided to go with them.
couldnt agree more in regards to the yellow fr, wheels look way to big, maybe its due to the pre-facelift bumpers, something just doesn't sit right, 16" or 17" wheels on lowered suspension, looks mean, surely a lowered sus on 18" will just make it look like a standard 16" setup

I think it may be the bumpers I think the cupra/facelift ones are a bit lower which helps. Maybe it the yellow car was slammed on it bum it would help as the back just looks way to high and the low profile tyres do not help. But at the end of the day we do what we like you our cars and that is what matters to the person that drivers it.
The term roller skate comes to mind.
In my opinion, 18's look far too big. I even think the ones on Rash's old car looked a little too big, and he did a proper job of making them fit nicely.
17's tops on the mk4's, but 16's are more so to my taste.

Its funny actually. I am a great beleiver in each to their own so if people dont like my car its fine, I do! 
The odd thing is though is the new 18 inch setup is only 1.33% bigger (or 4mm on the rolling radius!) than the standard 16 inch setup, and smaller than Seats own optional 17 inch setup.
So really all ive done is filled the tyre with alloy (if that makes sense!) so my 45mm lowering kit is now a 37mm lowering kit over standard (keeeping up?!) meaning that the car doesnt look over-wheeled and doesnt ride high, in my opinion at least!
Thats my reasoning anyway! I do like the the technical side of wheel fitment! Saying that Im not a fan of non-dished wheels in 18 inch as I do think they can look too slabby on such a curvy car.
Though I do have to admit that I took those 18s off the Ibiza and put them on my Passat where, with the help of PCD adaptors/spacers I think they look better!
