oh right, have you been doing quotes as if you have got your 1 yr no claims?

I am 18 with 1yr NCB and insure my TDi FR for £1176 with elephant!
Do a quote with them as if you are in april and let me know what you get, for 1.9 TDi 100

I have done these as if i wanted them next weekend as thats when i may be getting the car!
1.9tdi DAB = £3243.99
1.4tdi Reference = £2720.15

How did you get it for £1176, i mean i have a clean licence, live in a low crime area, car is is kept in a car port ova night! Bloody insurance makes you think why we bother with it!

that's because you have 0 NCB then =]
when you insure with direct line it will be for 2 months, so you only pay the extra money for those 2 months... then you will have 1yr no claims and can get insurance really cheap! YAY

Wohaaahhh
I just did a quote exactly the same as mine but for a PD100 special edition..
£1340.16

how does that work? LOL
that's the sort of price you should be getting though,

How old are you? £1340.16 is what i want to pay lol!

The £3243 one that i did was for a PD100 dab edition 2007, how do you get one for £1340.

Yeah that's what I was think about insuring with direct line again only paying for the two months like! Then i got my 1 YNC then it should! go down a bit.

I'm 18, with 1yr, I'm paying less for my TDi FR than a quote for a PD100 ?
I'll send you a PM if I can work out how

EDIT

Dont think i coulf be trusted with a FR lol!Would be nice tho.

I have found a nice 2007 1.9 tdi DAB, 100bhp. But is £5,495 which is my limit and it got 70,000 miles on clock, but its 80 mile away again! Who did you insure that with, i am currently with Direct line. Think i need to phone my insurance and get some quotes on the 1.4tdi and the 1.9tdi.

Cheers for the advise people! Happy to be a member of this forum!

i was with direct line but their prices have gone up considerably over the past year so i would suggest going through the comparison sites find the cheapest and then ring them direct. When i took the insurance out on the FR they sent me the renewal at £1076, i rang them and pushed a bit and got it down to £800 something

make the trip if you find the right car, mine for example was 60 miles away, i had the choice of the one i bought or one 5 min's away for the same price, mine had more kit less miles etc and the same price, i was happy to make the 100+ miles round trip as it was the right car. Your spending alot of money so be prepaired to make alot of trips

I am on egg motor insurance - i have 0 no claims - paying £800 quid a year with wheels, intercooler and exhaust insured on the ibiza 1.9tdi! not told them about the hybrid turbo yet tho! i think your better off sending the money you want to spend on the remap on the 1.4tdi on the insurance on the 1.9tdi!
up to you tho!

Egg motor insurance = never heard of them lol. i will try them! Your spot on with what i was thinking about getting the 1.4tdi mapped. What sort of power can you map it to without putting to much stress on the engine with all standard parts?

the 1.4tdi - you will b looking @ 140 to 150 bhp i would have thought, with the 1.9tdi figures should be about 160 to 170 bhp just with the standard map!
its worth getting a good map tho, i payed angel tuning to do mine @ about £300 but my turbo broke about 5k later! not 100% sure it was the map - could have just been one of those things!

Tbh i dont think i would want that sort of power, i mean they are 80bhp standard i would probs be happy with about 110bhp! I not been driving for to long so i dont want to push it lol!
