I've just had a K&N filter put in the standard airbox today. cost £58. ouch. you can get them for £40 online though.

are K&N supposed to be ok?

Just out of curiosity, i'm selling a Twister green cotton induction kit/filter which I have removed. How much do you guys reckon is a reasonable asking price for it?

Cheers

Yeah smooth airbox and put in a pipercross panel filter sounds really nice!

I've put the pipercross filter in and that alone has given slightly better noise & performance.

When I get my ars into gear I'll be smoothin it and adding one, maybe two cold air feeds.

Did something similar on my 1.4 mk3 ibiza, and if it gives better noise & gains on a little pea size engine like that, then it's definitley going to make a difference on anything bigger, especially if there's a turbo there too!

im using a jetex cone filter with a neuspeed heat shield and a 3inch cold feed. works and sounds a treat. from the start i put a cone filter on my car, then i desided to go back with the air box. i smoothed it out and ran a pipercross panel filter, i also fitted a 3inch cold feed, all in all it was ok but i much prefured the sound of the cone filter.
