Can both headlight fuses go together?

Got in my car this morning to go to work and when I flicked the headlights on neither side lighted. They were working fine the night before but nothing this morning. I doubt its the bulbs themselves although I have spares to check this but in looking at the fuse section of the manual, I notice they are separate for left and right side so could both go together when I came to put the lights on this morning or is there a more likely fault like a loose connection somewhere or broken component? Its under warranty if its not wear and tear but if there is a free fix then I'd rather that than having to take it in for something simple I could do myself.

Cheers guys, that was the problem. Swapped one bulb at lunch and it worked so swapped the other too and now back to normal. Never expected that to be honest, means you can't get away with just one spare front bulb in the car really.

Is that a design fault then that one bulb blowing overloads the other?

In the old days of shared looms and dodgy alternators that made em brighter when you revved up it would have been but modern cars are a little more sophisticated thankfully and usually have split circuits for safety so you don't lose all your lights at once on one fuse

more of a case that both bulbs were likely to have been made at the same point with the same materials and fitted to the car at the same time and as they come on together would be used just the same amount of time over the years and therefore more likely to pretty much the same really
