Hi Nightflight, Thanks for the reply and I immediately went out and did what you said and "Hey Presto" the mirrors moved into the position I have been putting them "Manually" for the last three weeks!!!. I hadn,t seen the small illustration under the knob nor read the Handbook correctly on that section.

A bloke in my street has a 56 reg Leon FR that he bought from new, the other day he commented on my folding mirrors I told him that all FR's have them. I notice that they are folded in every day now ;) I reckon he went indoors and swatted up on the owners handbook.

I find it a real shame that there's no 'auto fold' setting for the mirrors when you turn the ignition on and off. It would be so much nicer if the mirrors folded up when the ignition was turned off. I always forget to turn it to that setting.

Also, there appears to be a bug with it whereby if you put it onto the bottom setting while the ignition is on and let the mirrors fold up... then turn the ignition off, then turn the knob back to top center, and then turn the ignition back on, then the mirrors do not fold down again until you select the bottom setting and then reselect the top setting.

yea i notised that that too seems a bit odd that they dont move in that situation.

i have wonderd if they might fold out automaticly if you start driving and maybe thats why they stay in. because i tryed folding em in when im moving at it wouldnt, maybe somthing to try later.

Nope, they don't :p! I know because it's how I found out they don't auto fold down again, heh. I'd set the windows up in the morning, then flicked it back to the top when the ignition was off, expecting them to fold down when I left in the evening. I forgot I'd folded them up, drove off and then wondered why i couldn't see anything! Woops!
