Hey, Recently bought a seat ibiza bocanegra 1.4 dsg, drove it out the seat car lot with 7 miles on it on the 27th of november, on the 27th of december i had whistling noises coming from engine bay so took into dealership, mechanic want to have a look at it n kept it in on the 7th of january 2010 still no word on when i shall have it back as the part needed the factory havent any spares of,

Was wondering anyone any ideas on what , and how i should go about this,

also i seem to be gettin passed from company to company when i want information....

THanks

Is the fault what the title suggests? A brake pipe. Sad to hear u've got issues with ur Boc. I'd have thought brake parts would have been VAG standard anyway, but then I don't know much about VAG, techie probably does.

Which stealer is it at?

Custom made, but they've still had it for a few weeks... Weird. I wouldn't be able to help, but it is a shame. I'm loving my Boc atm. Have they given you a courtesy car or anything?

Yeah she's a beast mate. Proud of it tbh. Had the brakes upgraded a couple of weeks back, well chuffed now, I was one of the first to get theirs.

I hope your parts come soon and you get it back, I've never driven anything less than a 1.6 (apart from the Boc, but that's not an ordinary 1.4) so I can't imagine how hellish a 1.2 is when u've got a beast awaiting repair. LOL.

One of the pipes in my engine bay was knocking strutt or something, techie sorted it when he did my brakes, cos he had the same issue and knew what to look for. I love the build quality of these cars, compared to a french car anyway, shame there are small things like ur brakes upsetting the balance.

Look on the bright side, ur not clocking up the mileage on it. LOL

Get then to give you a proper loan car !!!

I had similar crap from my Audi garage when a nearly new A4 was off the road for a week when the cam belt slipped off . I ended up driving the Managers own company car after a few days

I first started to hear it on the 27th, was only happening when accelerating, got worse so took to the seat dealership on the 6th and it was put into the garage on the 7th.

What i was told was the accelerator cable was rubbin off this pipe and it had snapped almost seazing up the brakes

Odd, doesnt have an accelerator cable, but sounds like a servo pipe issue, lots of pipes down the front near the vacuum pump, probably one of them and unique to the DSG Ibiza so probably why there is a supply issue.

Just be understanding mate (im sure you are) sometimes we struggle getting the parts, its not anyone at the dealers fault, they would like to get the car gone im sure. It just happens from time to time. Look at all the new Boca owners on here, so far your the only one with a major issue like this, your just sadly unlucky.

Ye mate i can understand,

Just a bit of built up anger, due to the amount of money i am forking out monthly for this car, then gettin told from the garage that they dont have a time when we can get the car back to me.

Ye i havent heard anything of this fault after hours of net browsing,

Thanks anyway bud , sound advice

This may be a very silly question :(

As the cars are being built right now in the factory where are the parts they are using ? I know they have very few to hand and they get used very quickly but they are clearly in production by some firm somewhere and shipped to Spain on a very regular basis.

So why such a problem getting a part ?

More than likely its not expected as yet to be required as a spare and as they are very busy building all stock is being used in production.

Also suppliers of parts changes quite regularly so sometimes they are waiting stock from a new supplier after previous stock has run out.

We just had the same problem with our cars. We bought 51 new e-class mercs and after 4k miles they packed up with an injector problem. These are the blue efficiency engines. That was last year october and they never had the parts and had to source new ones. We only got the last one back last week. 51 cars off the road for 4 months. We also have a problem with rear disc pads as they have not anticipated the cars doing such high mileage. Did they not think that fleet operators would do triple the mileage in half the time of a private owner?!! hahahahaha So trust me it could be a problem to source parts on such a new model. Patience mate i am sure you will have your ride back soon.
