Hi guys i am after a little help. Want to get some more power out of my car i have bought a polished and ported head. The porting is great and head is in good condition but i think it is a KR head. The casting numbers are 051103 373A but i was told it is a 2.0l head but thought KR heads are 1.8?

I am just trying to decide if valve seats and ports are smaller on this head and weather it will be better then the ABF head i have on my car.
Any help will be appriciated
THX Dave

have u just bought it off the bay for 67 quid? a ported head would give much more efficient airflow than a standard one, giving more power. i believe the KR head is the same as the abf, just the stroke in the engines are different. have you measured the valve ports yet?

Ye it is that one for 67 quid. Was you bidding on it or something? no havent measuered them yet but was wondering if the valves on my head are going to fit on this head or not as i have read the KR seats are smaller. Suppose i best measure them tomorrow and see

KR head will fit a ABF block..... will just leak oil by the dizzy so you will need some instant gasket around that area. Bear in mind a ported and polished head alone won't do too much, specially if you haven't had it mapped to suit and you better off saving a bit to fit some cams to imo

Also a good ported and polished head goes for £500 or around that price, if not more! You sure this is a tidy head or some lad thought "I can do that" got a head and got on with the polishing!

Tbh mate I think this will just cause you problems, £67 for a ported and polished head??? You might as well brought a resistor chip while you were at it!

i doubt many people were looking for one so only a few knew about it, thats why it went for cheap. i just googled the numbers u mentioned and came up with that listing.

i wonder how much power you would get if the inlet, throttle body and head were all gasflowed....?

My car is already chipped and has kent cams. i have just ordered a 4 branch gonna fit this head and then get it remapped. Hopefully be looking at 180bhp? The porting is actually a good job and i am a tech and my mate works for an enginering company who build touring engines and he reckons it is good so thinking it was a good find really.

I have been watching the other advert on ebay as it has been on for months. Look at the state of the porting it is terrible. The price is irrelivent i would have paid any amount for a decent head that has been done as i have been looking for months for the right one.

Not sure what degree cams they are. Not done anything with the car since buying it and i am now gonna spend time and money on it to get it running right. I am gonna strip it down and see what cams are in it over the weekend so will let you know. Do kent cams do varient cams for these engines?
