oh yeah got an email reply from Jetex re doing the blue filter in the red, this is what they said:

"Unfortunately we only offer this size of filter in blue. We have never been asked for this before in red as it is expensive to produce new colours for just one sized filter."

Hence just ordered a Blue jetex filter from bill at badger5 along with forge dv & TIP :D

Sorry Mashburn i think you were wanting the filter in red aswell

I sent them an email aswell mate, got back exactly the same reply as you!! :D

Did anyone else's filter look like this?

I'm guessing that hose coming out of the base is to fit onto the breather hose. Might have to play with it a bit because the jabba heatshield does not like it! It also arrived with the bolt to attach it to car body as well as a bracket. Also a little CAI.

Time to go fit it!

The mounting bracket is too long i.e. it won't fit between the filter and the wing and that's without any spacers in. I'm going to fit it without heatshield for now and just jubilee the SAI to the hose on the Jetex.

I will order a spacer so I can fit the Jetex directly to wing without a bracket.

Jamjay is there a hole in your neuspeed heatshield for the SAI (even though you don't have one on Cupra R). Looks like that little silver bit poking out could be one?

Yeah I do Monkey. I have just blocked the inner side of the hole with the breather filter supplied in the kit, it has no use though on mine. I was considering running a small extra air feed to it but there's not alot of point and will make the bay look messy.

I'm having a few problems with this...

  • Heatshield doesn't accomodate for SAI
  • Nowhere to secure filter because the bracket supplied is too big and I can't find anywhere on the battery cover to temporarily tie-wrap it to
  • SAI is jubilee clipped to hose but doesn't feel secure at all

Here's how it's currently looking...

Not good times... Anyone have any simple suggestions? I may have to look into getting a different/custom bracket to secure it.

Even then I don't know what I'd do because the hose wouldn't even reach the SAI if I was to extend the filter into the wing.

I think I need to just find a bracket that actually fits to secure the filter and then I can start looking at what I'm going to do about the heatshield... How depressing.

Search through this thread, and there is link to a Coupler and a bit of hosing, that bring it close to the wing, then you are able to bolt it permanently to the wing!

Does anyone know what size coupler/joiners I'd need for my car? It's an FR but should be the same size as Cupra (not Cupra R)

I'm thinking 70mm?

Have ordered 70mm joiner and coupler from Forge. Luckily it's the missus' week to drive to work so I won't mess anything up driving around with the filter unsecured.

Yeah it works a treat and saves me having to carry a camera as well as my mobile.

Quick question for everyone, does it matter that i've put my MAF in upside down so the connector isn't shown? It shouldn't make a difference to the working of the MAF should it?
