Im going to be replacing the centre section of my 1.4 with just a pipe.

Supersprint do a centre section but there is 2 listed for the mk2 1.4.

Theres the 1.4 (60bhp) 97-99 one:
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?product=3832232

But theres one listed for a 1.4 16v of the same year:
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?product=3834251

Obviously they dont make a 16v mk2 but that part is cheaper than just the 1.4 one depending where you get it from.

Would it make a difference?? Or there is currently one on the 'bay for a mk2 Cupra sport/gti which is cheaper than them both.

What would be the best option?

Thanks.

Just pick up a pattern part from a motor factors.

Will cost next to nothing. 1.4's have a real small bore compared to the 8v, so that won't be a straight fit.

if you want rid of the centre box altogether then a 98ish Clio 357k centre pipe is an ideal donor for a modded pipe

just check the bore size though to be sure as i'm sure they are fairly fat bore

20vt rear ? how have you stepped up to the pipe size ?

The supersprint centre section is the part I ordered for my '95 1.4 Ibiza, be careful. With mine, they took 4 and a half weeks and when it came they had just got it completely wrong. Where the exhaust turns at 90 degrees they had tried to just cut through on a diagonal where the bodywork is.

£80 is a ridiculous amount to spend on a bit of tube that you can buy from a motor factors for 1/4 of that.

Moreover, you'd be mental to spend 20% of the value of your car on a centre section of the exhaust!
