Got the induction kit through the post yesterday, and got it all fitted last night!

Took it for a drive, and it sounds nice .. nice little grunt and a **** load of spooling!

Seems the same top end, but the bottom end seems alot slower . . maybe because of the cold air feed not being as good?

Long time!

Its been a while since i updated anything on this thread! Too long infact!

I havent been very busy with the car to be perfectly honest! My first daughter was born in March, so the car kinda got shoved to the side :)

Anyway, i done the N249 Bypass today, and what a difference it makes top end!

It doesnt seem to spool as quick lower end of the revs, but once its spooling, it doesnt stop and goes all the way round!!!

Im unsure of what to do next lol

Choices are -

Black wheels (standard ones)
FMIC
Coilovers
Decat and downpipe
T.i.p

Help me lol!

Its been a while since i done anything, and there has been alot of umming and arring about what to do next ...

It was my birthday at the end of may, and the lads all chipped in and bought me a forge t.i.p! Which i was rather happy with to say the least!

I went away the day after my birthday so didnt have the chance to fit it, i got back last night and dont go back to work until tomorrow so i though today would be a good day to do it ... so i took the following ...

One LCR
One Garage
One Toolbox
An array of hoseclips
WD40
Butter
Toast and tea .....

Starting by removing the airbox and the engine cover to gain better access.

Started slackening everything off and got the old one out, came out easy enough and then the hard work started ..... trying to get the hose joiners in the new tip was a nightmare!

IMG_1342.jpg

then started to put the new one ..

IMG_1339.jpg

Had a look at the DV while it was out aswell ....

IMG_1349.jpg

Put the new one in and got everything built back up ..... road tested and everything seems ok, cant put my foot down though, tyres are low and the roads proper bad!

Fitted 8k hids and LED sidelights aswell while i was at it .......

Coilovers are next on the list ....

It is a standard panel filter at the moment, but it seems to pull alot better top end, dumps a little louder, and make the exhaust note seem slightly deeper aswell!

Going to order an aftermarket one when i get my brakes though!

Paint Correction

Had a blast at correcting the paintwork today with a mate from work. Will put the pictures up at the end of the thread .... This is what we did ....

Exterior:

Washed with autoglym bodywork conditioner
Rinsed
Clayed with autoglym clay and born slippy lube

Taken inside and dried
Paint defects identified and marked with paint pen

70% rectified with 3m fast cut plus by hand (later worked in with machine)
Full machine polish with Dodo Juice - Lime prime using 3m Yellow pad

Waxed with autoglym High Definition wax by hand with pad, this was left to cure for approx 45 minutes

Edges of badges and around all the light swobbed

Wheels waxed with Simoniz original carnauba hardwax (a twat to get off!!!)

Tyres and plastic dressed with Megs endurance gel

Exhaust polished with auto glym metal polish. Did not have any wire wool though so hasnt come up to well.

Interior:

Mats hoovered and shampoo'd then wet vac'd. Came up nicely

Vents and little gaps swobbed

Hoovered thoroughly.

Ran out of time at that point so didnt get to much done on the inside.
The paintwork feels really good now, real smooth ... Like glass.

Impressed with the products used, and a big thanks to Finlay for doing it with me!

Anyone interested from the Teesside area pm me :)

Here are the pictures ....
