in the cupra you cant fit led's in the sidelights without resistors (because they will cut out) so ive put in led sidelights with built in resistors (to get them to match the hid's) is there anyway i can put leds in the fogs ? has anyone seen anywhere that sells error free ones ?

Hi Leonrob I tried the same thing on my leon when I put the LED sidelights in the power went out and display said "drivers side light failure" Where did you get the LEDs with built in resistors may I ask?

When you say LEDs for fog light I assume you mean replacing the oringinal fog bulbs?

I've not seen any available so far but you can get Xenon bulbs that match the HIDs a bit closer.

led fogs

Ahhh LED fogs sound good :p (would like HIDs but dont know how)

What rating resistor do you have to put in line?

Presumably just solder it to the positve side of the fog light feed.

Must admit that the Leon is the only car that monitors every bulb if it picks up the fogs as well - my old car only did the brake lights

have read reports & posts of other led type sides overheating and blowing/melting. any reports on these, looking at the ad they claim no overheating but of course that is the ad ;)

You can get LED's c/w CAN BUS s/w control fitted, but they are not cheap. the problems you have heard are due to people fitting hot resistors to plastic panels and NOT to the metal body which you should do!! so heat is disapated. a quick seach on the internet "can bus leds" should give several results. remember although the LED is bright it is how the reflector is designed that it sits in [ I have mag light torches converted to LEDS and the performance is incredable-because the reflector has been designed around it]

Hi OLDOILER noticed in your car parts list you have phillips xtreme h7s. Do they make a lot of difference as I was looking to upgrade to xenon bulbs.

Cheers

Yes they are quite good, they also had one of the best buy write ups two years ago, there may be a better alternative available now though. Good luck
