Is there anyone running an uprated turbo on their TDi cupra in here?

Hi,

Just having a look for anyone running an uprated turbo on their TDi cupra?

Just seeing whats the potential with the engine really. Have spoke to Simon at AMD and he has suggested £1250 for an uprated turbo.

If I also get a full Miltek exhaust / sports cat and remap would I need anything else to go with the new turbo i.e bigger intercooler? pipe work etc etc?

I'm not hoping for silly figures somewhere around the 220 - 250bhp mark max and the shed load of torque it would bring!

Im running a standard turbo'd one but it's just been r/r at 211 bhp with myself and 210 with the previous owner......

now i built a hybrid fabia vrs 220 bhp - sold it a few weeks after i built it, now i played with that the other week and....well there was honastly no diference, he couldnt get away and i couldnt get past him.....

personaly i wouldn't bother ..... save up and get something thats going to be quick from a simple remap - i.e 535d bmw

just my opinion but im sure theres folk on here disagree - they are a fun car if you can get them to 250 bhp and dont mind throwing money at it !

there is a guy on here who has a platinum grey cupra tdi with big turbo, have a read of his build thread,

but perosnally go drive a remapped cupra tdi, that will keep you happy for a while, then save up and explore the options on hybrid turbo, there are quite a few options out there so i would'nt just jump on one.

Also PM Devonmikey. He's probably one of the most experienced guys on here when it comes to diesel tuning and was knocking out high 200's in his cupra tdi before he rolled it ( at a gay 10mph though) He'll give you some wise words on what turbo to go for etc, as you'll be spending a few k and you don;t want to waste it.

yeah thats the guy, i thought it was uzi or something, but have a chat with him.

Also remember everycar will produce slightly different figures due to machining tolerances on the engines when built.
