Best Paint Restorer?

As there seems to be a lot of products on the market at the mo- is there a general opinion on what the best paint restoring product is?
I have a black Mk2 Leon that has suffered light car park abuse, some previous owner swirl marks, and (infuriatingly[:@]) dealer neglect (service complete with scratches!)
As the budget doesn't currently stretch to a re-spray, I want to tidy things up as best as possible in the mean time... Any ideas would be appreciated:)!

There are so amny good products on the market its hard to point at an individual as they have different methods of application.

If the cars paint work is in bad shape, it more than likely needs a paint correction detail. For example this is sort of result you can get.

I got this result from using DA Polisher and Menzerna Intensive Polish and a Lake Country Cutting pad.

how do you manage to get a picture to show all the defects like that? Im struggling!
500w Halogen Lights and powerfull overhead lights of AmDs workshop.

If the car has lots of swirls shining a powerful light normally shows up the defects.
