help! steering wheel shaking left and right??

my steering wheel every so often shakes slightly left to right. it worsens if speed up or slows if i slow down.
had a visual check underneith today but nothing jumping out as wrong. everything seems tight.

checked p/steering fluid its above min.
all bushes look correct
joints look in order
camber at bottom of suspension strut look tight.
no play in bearings

im out of ideas?

anybody else had this trouble or anybody hazard a guess to what it could be???
before i bite my lip and grab my wallet and head to seat dealers:cry:

What wheels you got on? are they the correct fit? you might need spigot rings for the center bore.

wheel balance, loose wheel bolts, loose something on suspension strut.... the list goes on.. a good spanner check needed me thinks

Tyres both ok? No nails or anything?
Equal pressure at the front tyres? Missing a balancing weight?

shakes enough to make your hand move with it when gripping it tightly to hold it in a straight line. no weights missin that i know off. could do with checkin the pressures though.

i already checked it over once but its bugging me so much im gonna give it a good go over at the weekend again. so ill leave car off the road till then. then if still no joy ill have to get somebody else to look it over.
