OK, but just because it doesn't cost 4 grand doesn't make it cheap rubbish does it? A new GT28RS turbo is around £800, manifold around £500, upper downpipe £250 - doesn't take a genius to work out that 4 grand has alot of profit in there.

CTS kits are good quality, FFE has a very good rep, I doubt they'd put that down the toilet by releasing a garbage kit. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come out with. Apparently the RHD Kinetic/CTS kit is out now and can be got from AMD, who have all the details.

Based on nothing.....except my own experiences? Bit of a contradiction their Rob. Maybe not directly on this kit but to have been through the mill a couple of times with poor quality items

Prove me wrong, I'm happy to say that if it is a turbo kit that works well. However a decent kit is one that is driven regularly and actually put through it's paces, in other words a car which is driven daily/regularly with this kit on for me is a true test of it's quality.

If Bill released a BT kit you would not have any questions about its quality and reliability (I doubt anybody would) because he is a good tuner that makes sure his products are good (he would be happy using them on his own car) and somebody you know of well.

Just because CTS/Kinetic and FF are companies you might not have heard of at all or know much about or because they are from the states does not mean that they will be poor or questionable. They both have pretty good rputations and have done some really good stuff before just like the tuners over here you know and like such as Bill.

You havent seen the kits and dont seems to know the full details of either of them or their manufacturers. The price is good but thats because its prices from the states. Theres really no need for any scepticism at all considering the above especially when they are spending £££s making and releasing kits which is hard enough anyway.

Not read the full details of it all yet but what turbo is being used? And yes I completely agree, the prices for BT kits is too much when you break down the cost of components!

I no nick who works at amd and he told me about theses kits a few months ago companys such as amd wouldn't get in kits that are rubbish . Altho I can see them adding more on top so getting the kit from the usa may be cheaper

Let's just celebrate the fact that 2010 should be the best year yet for affordable power! :D

how much do you think you will be able to get it all in for Rob? i.e. hardware purchased, installed and mapped?

also who would do your mapping? Star performance?

Well if the kit is $2150 - say £1300, add say £150 for shipping etc., install it myself and pay for mapping (by who - don't know) £550?, so say roughly around £2k all in. Might have to add injectors onto that, so £2300.

perhaps factor in £50-£100 for any bolts, lines, gaskets needed or for any other unforeseen tasks to require the kit to fit nicely. These installations are sometimes not very straight forward

so either way £2400 is nice!

Are you not prepared to go back to Star, based on previous events/reasons?

Dunno m8, he turns down alot of people for custom mapping these days, not really into fitting and mapping turbo kits any more I don't think.

Some initial pics are up on that Vortex thread now, will it fit RHD? Not sure, looks like it could.

FFE say the manifold can be fitted using standard spanners and sockets. Amazing welds on it:
