Hi im abit of a noob when it comes to bulbs, ive been wanting some brighter bulbs and after reading lots of threads on here I like the look of HID's but dont really understand what they are etc?

ive searched online and they seem to be quite expensive so just wonder if they are worth it?

Then i came across these :-
http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/H7-Philips-Diamond-Vision-Headlight-Bulbs.html

It says they are not stricly legal but i doubt that many police will check that far.

I also read alot into bulb warning lights coming on the dash? does anyone know if this will happen?
Any help is greatly appriciated! :)

HID lights are a high voltage discharge lamp unit, its the arc that creates the light output, in a "normal" car light, it is the heating up of a filament (wire) that creates theh light output. Typically factory fitted HID systems only draw about 35Watts of electrical power and give out about twice the light as filament 55Watt bulbs. They are expensive if fitted at factory so that is why some marques do not make them available. But they are very very good at doing their job, if you tend to do most of your night time driving out of town then they will come in very useful. Aftermarket fitting will tend to make the car's lights illegal if subjected to close scrutiny!

BTW, HID = High Intensity Discharge, and they tend to fill the tubes with Xenon gas, so might get refered to as "Xenons".

I've changed all my bulbs no warning light! i bought 4 X LED side lights, 1 osram NB for full beam and 1 6500k ABD for dip beam.

those diamonds visions are really crap for light output you can't see nothing!

get the philips 80% extreme ones bright as a spot light!

but yeah if you want HIDs get H7R which has a reflect bit on it so it won't glare on coming traffic...

:)

Oh right, Yeah you can't have BLUE lights infront because people might think your the police.

Sidelights don't do anything with visibility IMO..

Osrams are good but get the philips 80% xtreme they are BRIGHT!

LEDs one i have looks like this

LOL yeah they are bright, they look nice on the car! :) TBH just get 1 pair of LEDs for the outer sidelights and get the free WHITE ones for the inner sidelight. :D

LOL!

TBH BMWs, Mercs have WHITE LEDs sidelights on them, so i guess you won't get in trouble with the law...

Oh i'm fitting some DRLs on mine (not those gay stupid strip ones off ebay) E-mark DRLs.
