No mate, only scratches luckily enough. Everything else is perfectly in line, went through it with a fine toothed comb before I decided what to do repair wise.

Phew

you getting it sorted in time for the AMD RR?

It'll be sorted by the middle of next week, AMD is a bit of a trek for me though at 170 miles which is a shame as this seems to be one of the best meets.

Thats a shame mate, maybe at E38 then or CPOP:)

Comments welcome, (be gentle). :)
You going to buy winter tyres now?

This is what I've been trying to warn people about.
Okay this ONLY cost you £300 this time, if you had bought winter tyres they would have cost you about £450 but they would last you 5 years.

I really do feel sorry for you and am no way glorying in your misfortune just hope the other members who read this rethink about getting winter tyres.

Sorry to see the scratches, I drove over a cat the other day. The cat killed my foglight and let the bumper flex, which in turn dented my fender.

I hope your car will be ok soon!

what a shame J0n but least its fixable

just makes it hit home to us all how we all could crash in this weather. slow or fast crashes.

glad you were ok and no 1 got hurt.

About the winter tyres, you are correct. You will save your summer wheels and tyres, the wont lose any rubber nor will they be damaged (due to the bad weather conditions).

I also have ugly steelies with winter tyres, it is amazing how big the difference is!

Doesn't matter which car you drive, you should get winter tyres anyhow!

Mmm, don't want to spam to much in this thread, but you can get steelies up to 18"! Steelies on a Cordoba Cupra look ugly too.

Ohw, and about the cat EmDee, you should be happy I drove over it (I live in Holland) I stopped it from running away from you any further. The cat was already half way Germany ;)

Do you get discount on your insurance in the UK if you sport winter tyres?

what about tyre socks for winter cost about £50 for LCR tyres

They are cool, but most of us would have trouble getting them around the tyres due to the tiny gap between the arches and tyres. Not too easy to just slip on as they show in the videos. Also I'm not sure how legal they are...

Sorry for the digression J0N, but I do think you've taught us all a valuable lesson.
225/40/18 winter tyres with some cheap rimmage must be the way forward for the winter since we seem to be becoming a country with proper weather these days.
