Afternoon all.

Here is the lowdown on the car and what mileage etc I do.

53plate Leon Tdi Cupra.
Standard Suspension
225/45/17 Starfish alloys

I do between 400 and 600 miles a month.

60% motorway, 40% A roads/B roads.

I am after something that will give good longevity as well as good grip in wet and dry.

Any suggestions??

452s are great for the long run.have them right now but i found michelin PS2s the best for grip.unbeleivable grip for launching and sharp turns...loved them but didnt last too long :( il probably end up getting PS2s again next

ive just got 10'000 miles out of 2 front pirelli p-zero rosso tyres and that was with varied driving styles too. And im getting some more fitted as soon as the snow goes and i can get to the tyre fitter.

People seem to hate them on here but i cant fault them i would say a good all round tyre at £107 each

Looks like I will be getting some FK452's when the snow has gone and i can drive again!

On a side note, what tyre pressures are you guys running?

I have around 40kgs of car audio in the boot, just unsure of what I should be running.

Quite a few people on the forums seem to favour the vredestein ultrac sessanta's which judging from reviews seem to perform quite well in all weather conditions. Havent heard much of them, but just been looking into it, and they are also priced relatively well.

I'll probably go for 452's when I need replacements, but depends on the cash flow, if i can afford it then I may go for Goodyears, and if I can get some more info on the Vreds backing their performance, then they seem like a good compromise in the middle of the 2 mentioned before.

Also, in terms of tyres, I believe the rec pressure is 33 psi all round, which is what I've been using, not sure if there needs to be adj because of your audio equipment, though to be honest, its a "how long is a piece of string" question, you'll get tons of diff answers :)

Defected!
Second thoughts, if you dont want this to happen get great, big, spikey,
studded, non slippy wintery tyres because F1's are sh!t. Was'nt driver
error you know, oh no, not for a second!

I feel for you JON the snow is bad this year and i had a few near misses myself. luckily all i got away with was a puncture in this weather and had to leave the car at the side of the road which looking back im glad about as its like a ice rink out there. just managed to limp it home the other day. Not driving my car till its melted now as i need 2 new tyres anyway.

Im getting p-zero rosso's again as they performed ok all round and wore really well with them.

Hope you get it sorted soon. You got a nice car there. Best colour too!!!!
