i've heard that the FK452s are the ones to go for, even over the 912s

Depends how you define "budget". I call it good value for money, which my FK452s are. They're good in dry and wet but cheaper than F1s. There's no such thing as good cheap tyres though, no matter how much VFM they seem to give you!

Thats my way of thinking too. I have F1 Assm's all round at the moment and no doubt about it they are fantastic tyres but I use my car everyday and the fronts are getting ready after only 8 months (around 9000 miles) so I've just changed fronts to back. I'm going to try the 452's next because they come recommended by loads of people on here, they're the right price and I'll be able to make a proper, real world comparison.

I won't put anything other than Uniroyal Rainsports on my mapped Ibiza Cupra TDI now. I've tried a few 'Premium' brands and so called budget brands and opted for Rainsports when I was short of cash. The Rainsports outperform Pirelli P-Zero and Bridgestone Potenzas in every area and to top it off they were 2/3 the price of them.

I'm now running 215/40/17 and a pair of Rainsport 2's cost £74 each fitted last year
