Ill explain my situation. when i bought the car it only came with one key and Sigma alarm fob, while playin in the snow today i have somehow lost just the Fob off the car, which is annoying but i thought that i would just use the key till i had the funds to take it to seat and get it sorted.

The only thing being is that my Drivers key barrel doesnt fit my key but the boot does so i can not lock my car with out locking it from the inside and climbing over and out the boot.

What can i Do ???

I had a problem on my mums boot lid lock on her BMW, thought it was the wrong key as it went in the barrel but wouldn't turn. Stripped done the barrel to find it had seized due to lack of use over the years, freed it with WD40 and works fine now so might be worth trying that.

it only came with one key and Sigma alarm fob

does the spare key fit ?

 :p

try and remember were you was messing in the snow or it will cost you for a new barrel and key:cry:

agreed, what do you mean you just lost it, is it on a separate key ring or what?

As Flapper suggested, either a new fob from Sigma, or I would get a pro to look at how integrated the sigma system is - could it be removed and then just buy a genuine Seat one with the built in fob?

Secondary would be more expensive though. (I'd guess)

can you get hold of the previous owner ? maybe a code was given for the fob

or understand why the door lock is different to boot

As said title is a misread as you lost it not them :)

when i had a toad alarm , i was given a credit card style card that had my uiniqhe pin that i could over ride it

i would imagine a good auto elctrician / alarm specialist could sort / get around it - failing that give it to a car thief and see how good he is :)

Sounds like the car has been stolen and recovered at some point, requiring a new drivers door lock. You should have got a separate key with it, in fact four keys overall, a spare for each lock.

I take it that your alarm fob also activated the remote central locking, allowing you to lock the car without a key?

I'd go straight back to the seller and ask where the keys that fit the drivers door lock are, and why there's a non-standard alarm system in there. Means you can't go to the dealer for a new fob. At the very least get the details you need to order a new fob from Sigma, whoever they are.

where would you stand legally then if they hadnt disclosed a stolen recovered car , or is that down to you to hpi it

as said again , you will need a reference number for socalled sigma to work with

a quick google search brings up fobs

http://www.ncs-systems.com/res/395

perhaps scan and identify which fob was yours to narrow down the model number / alarm type

also looking further into it its part of toad / scorpion/ sterling group

Cheers I think i am going to have to get a new handle and lock from the dealer, then will look in to the key fob situation.

As for the conspiracy, its not really just the fact that my alarm fob was with my Keys and it must of snapped off when in the snow and the last owner didnt inform me about the lock situation or i would of got it sorted sooner.
