I am thinking of changing our 2007/07 Cupra which has 28k on the clock to a face lift FR CR, does anyone know what ours is worth trade in and private sale?

It has convenience pack, HID's, Bluetooth, rear park, black grill, black Orion 18"s etc, full Seat history, 2 previous owners.

Also be good to hear from current FR CR owners as to what they think of there cars?, I am going to be doing more mileage now so want to go Diesel.

I would say PX may be around 12.5-13.5K with your options.

As for the FR CR it is a nice smooth car overall not driven a pre FL Cupra and only a FL Cupra and my heart said Cupra and head said FR. It was only when using the higher revs that the Cupra felt pokier than the FR TDi. In day to day driving not pressing on the two felt very close in performance terms especially through the gears and with a remap they would be very close through the gears. The Cupra feels lighetr and turns in more quickly but agin you have to be really pressing on to notice this. It does have a very roarty un diesel like noise as well.

I recomend a good long test drive as a day to day car it is excellent but you may miss the final % of performance and fun that the Cupra gives. Depends if the £120 RFL and 45 avg mpg will offset it?

Few things to weigh up before hand, calculate the costs to change cars, and the actual time it would take you save any money and fuel and other things. It could actually be cheaper in the long run to stay with the cupra.

Thanks for all the advice guys, ours is due a 30K service now so might take it down to the dealer to get that done and try and borrow a new FR CR to see how we get on..

I test drove a Facelift Cupra and Facelift FR TDI CR170 about 6 weeks ago , The CR engine is alot smoother than the PD engine , If you need a TDI for miles then the FR TDI is your best option i would say

I ended up with a Pre-Facelift PD170 Tho

I have been offered £11,450 trade in on our car against a New Shape FR CR which has 3000 miles on it, they want £16,000 for it, what do you think?

£11450 is not a bad offer but trade in prices are low at the moment. Personally I would wait and trade in come March as values have dropped over Xmas and are due to rise by March by about 5-10% according to those in the know. Unless you can sell privatly via pistonheads or something for £12450.

£16000 for the CR FR is quite good (options fitted?) as just over £17000 is the best you will get for a base brand new car with no options via a broker/dealer.
