hi all,

well, being as it was a saturday and ive had a new stat sitting in the boot for a while, i thought id change my faulty thermostat on the LC. What a bitch the lower housing bolt is to get too lol! Welkl in the process of removing the n249 bracket, i noticed a couple of split vacuum hoses, so as i disconnected them, the one from the n249 to the inlet manifold cracked the nipple thats on the manifold. Ive managed to mix up some liquid metal, seal the hole and T into the FPR. I now have boost showing on the boost gauge again :)

But tonight, ive tried wiring my voltmeter, wired in an inline glass fuse and tried to wire into the radio ignition side. ????? Where the hell is the ignition cable. I found 3 cables leading into the head unit each showing a constant 12v.

And to my suprise, when i gave up looking for it, i decided to leave the cable from the voltmeter behind the head unit and connected it all back up. Now its asking me for my radio code and i dont have it! Grrrrr what a day lol!

wheres the best place for me to retrieve the code? Dealer? Atleast one good thing come out of today, and thats that the thermostat now shows a nice 90 degrees on the dash when warm!

Nah it wont do.

Does it go between 65-90 when it should sit at 90? if so its very likely to be the stat.

mine failed open so pretty much stayed at 60 at most times then now and then went up to around the 75 mark and then back down. I changed the green temp sensor first, no change so changed the stat and all is fine now! :) Anyone got ideas on how to wire a voltmeter in a Leon?

cheers lee, thats exactly the sort of thing ive been looking for mate. Just pulled up tonght and thought im going to scan the car since ive T'd from the n249 into the FPR and guess what, no EML but, 17608 has come up. And the thing is i could bypass the N249 but if i want to get the car remapped but when i went down to AMD with it bypassed, they wanted me to use the standard system with the vacuum reservoir. So does this mean a whole new inlet manifold? grrrrrr
