yeah, added up the pabs guide costs and £80 when written.
can't quite justify it, but as and says, safety first.

TimJK, yes they only have the electrical connector, but you need to get under the scuttle panel to get at them to change.

I don't understand why you dont just use bettter screenwash. All this faffing around is pointless.

I used to live in Canada and they dont use Halfords -5 premixed crap over there. They dont have heated jets either.

Remember when it says -5 it's including windchill etc. if your thermostat says -4 you'll need -20 screenwash.

Do you think these heated jets will plug into the loom some where? It would make sense that all the leon wiring looms were made with plugs for optional extras in mind. Or would that just be too easy?

hopefully , but cant see it being that easy , nothing ever is !!!

you could simply wire them up to something i,e rear demister or lights so when something is on they get heated rrather than being heated all the time

look at the pic andy uploaded on page 2.
you will see the replacement and existing have a plug on them to attach to existing wiring.
new ones just have a small heating element i guess to defrost them when you demist the rear window.

got them in the car, need dry clear day to remove wipers and scuttle panel to do the swap. bit late for this year but prepared for the future...

Yeah, I would wire them into the wing mirror de-misting wiring, it’s the most accessible, either that or buy the winter pack wiring loom which would probably cost an arm and a leg.

oldman, could you put a coupe of pics up of exactly what you do to get the scuttle panel off please? I know a pic has been put on here already but a step by step would be most helpful!

cheers :D

but i think that as the original are plugged in they are just dumb and these are live so in theory a straight swap should work?

The originals are not plugged into anything there is no wiring on them, if you look at the diagram you can see this, there are two no 21's one is the normal one and one is heated.
