Hi, tried my rear washer earlier.. no fluid's getting to the wiper.. it's dripping out under the chassis somewhere under the passenger footwell, obviously the hose has come off a connection somewhere..

but i've no idea if it's easy to re-connect..

cheers

From my own experience it's a bit of a pain to do. I had to remove the airbox and reach down. I put an extra jubilee clip on to make sure that it stayed on.

Most common Ibiza problem ever... the fix, I'm not sure but if you google seatcupra + washer pipe.

You'll deffo find something fella, I've had 3 ibizas and its happened on two of them.
Both times the dealer did it under warranty.

washer hose

Hi, got it fixed today.. cheers lippo, the washer hose had blown off under the airbox, so it's been cabletied... but once that had been done still no luck.. had a look myself tonight... and water dripping from the area of the rear towing eye pointed me in the right direction.. the hose had come apart at a join in the area to the rear of the seatbelt reel.. hence the spare wheel area was getting wet..

Unfortunately the hose fittings are plastic rather than rubber so cableties are useless for securing it..

so by the looks of for there's 2 areas to explore if anyone else had this happen.. and it ain't just a spanish fault.. fabia's and polo's aren't immune..

Glad you got it sorted. Best way to avoid it is use lots of screen wash in the fluid. this'll stop it freezing in the winter. Not sure why yours popped off in the summer.

Ive got the same problem, fluid is leaking onto the road from under where the wash bottle is and luckily not into the car (I hope!)

2 questions : a) Is the airbox easy to remove ,
and b) does the washer pipe run down the n/s or drivers side ?
I read all the other threads on this and am a bit confused , there seems to be 4 connections where it can leak . I assume Stus leak in the boot was on the drivers side? On mine, the pipe on the tailgate comes from that side.

The airbox is easy to remove, just a couple of screws holding it together/in place. The break will probably beon the passengers side, just below and behind the airbox. I took mine out, then ran the washer jet to get a good build-up of water and bubbles to see where it was! I reconnected the hose and then taped the whole thing up! I always run non-freezing screenwash in the car now and never water...

Yeah its pouring out on the passenger side, it was a really cold night on Christmas eve that did it. I had Halfords screen wash in there but obviously not a high enough concentration, wont make that mistake again .

The front washer froze too but its working again now.

Not sure if your airbox is the same as mine , its on the passenger side over the wash bottle?

my rear washer has never worked i will sort it one day but i never feel the need to use it as i wash the car quite frequent, ive no idea where its disconnected but i dont get a puddle under the car when i have tryed it so im guessing its behind the boot panel.

Most common place seems to be the connector to the rear wiper pops off and you get a spare wheel full of water. Had that myself a couple of years ago, since then I dont use it if its freezing.
