I always noticed when mine was filled with 95 RON. I wouldn't notice for a little while then i'd wonder why the car didn't feel quite right. Then i'd have to think back to the last fill up and remember I went for the cheap stuff.

As above given that the difference if a couple of quid a tank I just use V-Power now.

Will running 95 RON on a remapped car damage it? Or will it feel even worse than people are finding on non mapped cars?

It would be more noticable when mapped as your expecting more, but wont damage anything. Ecu realises It cant push the fuel to such temps and winds everything down to compensate the earlier detonation. Hence the lack of power.
Couple of tankfuls of the good stuff and the ecu re-adapts.

Sorry to highjack, but this is something i am interested in too.
In ireland you can only buy 95 Ron, i still have no idea why, so basically i use either topaz or texaco petrol, i know i am not getting the best out of the car on 95 ron, would it be worth my while trying one of those octane boosters you can get in most car stores? or are they just a gimic?

a quality product such as millers additive will add the octane it is meant to. I would be doubtful about halfrauds products such as "NOS" additive!

I've been using BP ulitmate in my lcr since i bought it, a while back i switched over to V-Power and i found that i was burning twice as much fuel and the car was running really rough. Is this normal or should i give V-Power another go?

Low-octane fuel will result in the ECU limiting the engine's power by retarding the ignition. As far as I know, boost is unaffected.

i would run mine on tesco 99 but they never have it in. always sold out of it. Really hacks me off as its the only petrol station near me that has decent fuel.
