Damaged FR

Hi All - Merry Xmas -

Just got up this morning to find some drunk from the local pub had thrown a plantpot with the contents going all over my car and leaving me 2 dents in the panel near the fuel filler cap (pic attached). My question is how easy is this to fix?

I am new to this forum and have got a 2008 ibiza fr tdi - my pride and joy so someone doing this has obviously upset my xmas :-(

Pic 1 shows the damage - Pic 2 shows how the car usually looks

Any advice welcome

ouch not good that

er simple answer is not really, new panels is the obvious way but not cheap, other than that, take it to a body shop and see what they can do not really alot you can do with dents or damaged panels im afraid.

Simple fix for a body shop. They will flat it down, fill in where needed and repaint. Expect a cost of £120-£150ish. Forget about changing the panel, it will need the old quarter cutting out and new one welding in and will probably end up having imperfections where the welds are. Plus you are looking at around £1000 I would estimate.

Someone at work opened her door onto my rear 1/4, removing a chunk of paint but never owned up to it. To top it off she made me redundant a few weeks later :censored:
Got quotes of about £100 to flat and paint but my car is non metallic so easier to blend and the panel wasn't dented.

Totally agree a good body shop will sort that so you will never know it happened. Your prob better paying cash than insurance if you can afford it. I would expect a bit more than £150 it depends where you live but around my neck of the woods i would est £250-£350, sorry :(

Is the paint broken? These dent wizard guys will take the interior panel off and straighten it out. Ive watched them work and its amazing what they can do and the dents they have taken out.

Bad news on Christmas though.

I would definitely look into getting a paintless dent removal (PDR) guy to look at it first if possible, they basically use metal rods to 'tease' the metal back into shape from the other side of the panel.

Its crap, some people have no respect for other peoples cars! :censored:

Thanks all - did a few phone calls today and have a local bodyshop have a look at it. Really impressed with it being a Sunday and all that. He is going to strip the panel back to the metal (as there are a few deepish scratches in the area as well) and use a slide hammer to pull it back into shape. Will respray probably the boot as well to match the car - will cost £250 -

Looks like it is going to be a good job - local chips away offered to do it for £170 - but would have used filler in the hole - and I am not a fan of filler. Once this has been done got a mate just outside of York who is going to detail the car for me so should look top notch.

I will post some pics up when it has been repaired - and detailed...

Thanks all....

Does anyone know where I can get the seat 'ibiza' badge and FR badge for the boot? I have seen one for sale on ebay but not sure if it is for a 2008 model. I did a search for ' seat ibiza badge' to get it. Says it is a genuine part but not sure. Any help again very welcome.
