ARB or Liquid Gauge?

Right, so I've got a bit of cash burning a hole thanks to Crimbo.

But I'm stuck.

Do I go for a liquid gauge or rear ARB?

I would love to get the Neuspeed 28mm ARB, but I have a plan for the liquid gauge that would be a bit more of an individual mod. I am planning on mounting it in the ashtray with a carbon surround.

I'm pretty sure you're all gonna say ARB, which is what I'm thinking (makes you faster), but it is a bit more money and also something anyone can go out and buy.

So what do you lot think?

I'd go with the gauges as it's a neat mod especially doing a carbon jobby in the ashtray:D
Nice, would love to see pics when done.

What's the difference in price ?
TBHI think I'd go for the ARB

The gauge is £176 and the ARB is £219 without fitting, although I'd give it a go myself if I could find someone willing to lend a hand (hint hint). I've heard the rear one is much easier to do than the front.

The more I think about it the more I want the ARB.

pffft yeah well if I could afford the pair I'd just go buy an RS4. Think I'll do them one by one so I can feel the difference ;)

Actually I've always said if i found a grand lying around I'd get a diff, but being a bit of a tart i fancy a matte black vinyl wrap.

Suppose i could always forget the gauge and the ARB and get a carbon roof vinyl?

Only kidding i'd rather get the ARB - uh I mean liquid gauge - uh ARB

From what I'v read recently adding just the rear ARB will induce a bit of oversteer,
If you get the guage dont you think the novilty would wear off after a month or so :shrug:

been there done that,

I cant fault the LG but i had it about 4 weeks then got rid, i found myself playing with it too much, plus the stock 180 lc didnt really warrant me having it:happy:

I too would get the pair of arbs to maintain balance. Otherwise get the liquid gauge.

Yeah, I think I've decided what I'm going to do. I'm planning on getting the rear ARB and since my birthday is at the end of Jan I'll beg eveeryone I know to give me money toward the front one. I think the 23mm R32 one is about £100. After xmas I am so skint I really can't afford to do both right now and I should really be using any xmas money to pay off debts etc, but that's not what the people who gave it to me want so I'm left with no choice ;)

Besides I think it will be interesting to do them separately because I will see and feel the difference in the setup (hopefully).

I will have to leave the Liquid Gauge until next year - by which time there will hopefully be a better one...

Your probabley looking at 3-4 hour's labour to fit the front too mate, might be worth just asking around how much to supply and fit a front one as it might work out cheaper to get an after market one from say AmD and get them it.

You made the right decision.
If you didn't get the rear ARB you would always wonder how good the handling would be.
I'd get a front S3 strutt brace before a front ARB.
£60 and an easy fit.

Also you won't find a cheaper front ARB than the R32 23mm one... FACT!!!

If they try to charge you 4 hours to fit a front ARB you'd better tell them to feck right off
With a ramp 2 hours MAX.
I could fit it quicker than that with axle stands and trolley jacks myself

Cheers willie, you've put my mind at rest. Surprised me when you said you'd go for the strut brace first. I wouldn't say that's an easy fit though I don't fancy drilling any holes in my nice engine bay *gulp*
Although I've heard fitting the front ARB is a mare, I'll probably pay someone to fit it.
