Acting like a snow plough in this weather. All the snow in the middle of the road (ie. middle of the tracks on road) is just collecting up on my splitter, its annoying ha. just thought id share my anger

Yep, same here! Made all the worse because I have to use a fair bit of country lanes. Dont mind when you can just hear its snow or slush, but when that sound gets a bit coarser... well, I start to cringe in my seat. I keep thinking that the thing will fall off!

I know the feeling, and to top it off when i started to drive slower to prevent damage to it i had some t*t in a 4x4 flashing his headlights at me and getting angry!

If you hit a clod of ice at 80mph with your front splitter, bang in the middle of an otherwise very well gritted and clear piece of dual carriageway/motorway, it does break it off.. BAM and bouncing away in the rear view mirror.

That was Monday's commute. Aylesbury SEAT had splitters in stock thankfully and seems that only a small bit of the lip of the bumper itself was broken - so splitter still mounts correctly and looks fine!

Yes it's held on by plastic clips - remove the sides first, moving around to the front, then apply (lots) of downward pressure at each of the central pillars and they will 'pop' out of a plastic notch in the bumper.

I know where you're coming from. The snow in the the middle of the road ripped mine clean off the other day, but worse than that the snow managed to get through the lower grill and build up on the topside of the undertray causing it to break and drag along the road :( So be careful those thinking of venturing out in the snow lol

mine got ripped off by some snow in the middle of the road on xmas eve eve, was next to a speed cushion, so was very low to the ground when it hit the snow.

Need to see of the local seat garage have any in stock. I have a standard Mk1 FR TDi, as instructed, had to shave off the 2 centre struts to fit, there werent screwed onto the underside of the bumper, so it was sagging slightly, anyway i can prevent this when i re-fit the new one.

going to wait for this snow to go though before i do.
