Hello All,

I am just about to buy the weitec coilovers from awsome gti before the special offer ends.
I have a 04 FR 20VT, and I suspect I will need new bushes for the ARB, so I was thinking why not do the upgrade so many talk about on here.
(I have purchased a whiteline Rear ARB a while ago, not yet fitted).

I assume I will need to speak to my local Skoda dealership to get hold of the Fabia ARB, but before I do that I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much they cost? and do they come with bushes etc. ready to fit?

Oh and does anyone know the part number please? I assume they will want my 'fabia's' reg number..(spot the error there).

Many thanks,

Andrew.

2004 Fabia lists 3 choices

18mm (no colour) = 6Q0 411 305 AL (also use 2x 6Q0 411 314P rubbers)

19mm (yellow) = 6Q0 411 305 AB (also use 2x 6Q0 411 314Q rubbers)

20mm (green) = 6Q0 411 305 AC (also use 2x 6Q0 411 314N rubbers)

i would assume the green marked thicker one is the VRS but i would check and they are all roughly £40/50/60+vat or so respecectively

afterthought - yours is an FR20vt wouldn't it be 20mm anyway? measure it or check for white marks as its the same part number as the skoda just different paint colour marks used

I thought I read on here a while ago the FR has a thinner ARB than the fabia, but I will see if I can find some calipers and go measure.

Just measured it and it's 16mm as I thought.

So getting: 20mm (green) = 6Q0 411 305 AC (also use 2x 6Q0 411 314N rubbers) is the best way forward? Or would that cause more understeer?

I always thought fabia vrs ones were 21mm? On my fr now it has a 19mm one so havnt bothered upgrading it yet as it seems fine.

Theory is that a stiffer front arb will induce understeer more easily yes. Have you got a rear anti roll bar?

I will be getting a whiteline adjustable rear ARB fitted at the same time as bushes coilovers etc. So a thicker bar on the front will complement the one on the rear, balancing things out I would assume.

Either way, though I would not have thought that any of these cars ever had "16mm" ARBs - maybe the OP should measure that ARB again.

One other thing, "colours", my wife's 2003MY Polo 9N 1.4 SE was fitted with an 18mm at factory - and that had a dash of white paint. When I bought the "non-plastic collored" version, it did not have any paint markings on it - just to confuse things - but it did measure 18mm.

Yeh the whiteline rear ones are adjustable, so you can just whack it on stiff when it gets fitted and itl be fine. If your car is standard now and your getting all this done in one hit the change will be tremendous!

I measured mine the other week got right under and measured right next to the bushes at 19mm. Think they are thinner just before they attach to the droplinks, maybe measured here?

Yes you are right 19mm! No need for a new one then. Even if I put a whiteline Rear ARB on?

I might as well get one of these:
Front Anti Roll Bar Bush 19mm PFF85-603-19 x2 (+£28.50)
