110 kilowatts (150 PS; 148 bhp) @ 4,000 rpm; 320 newton metres (236 lbf·ft) @ 1,900 rpm — ARL, BTB
Ford Galaxy Mk1, SEAT León Mk1 (1M) (ARL: 09/00-12/05), SEAT Toledo Mk2 (ARL: 10/00-07/04), SEAT Alhambra (BTB: 06/05-05/07), Volkswagen Golf Mk4 (ARL: 09/00-05/06), VW Bora/Jetta Mk4 (ARL: 09/00-05/05), Volkswagen Sharan (BTB: 01/05-05/07)

Does that mean mine is 'ARL', I could not see it written anywhere

Check the bottom right corner of the windscreen (from outside). It should be ARL

It is most likely that a Mk.1 TDI Cupra is the ARL engine, yes.

It can be quite hard to see the engine number, which includes the engine code. It is stamped on the block, next to the joint line with the clutch housing and at the front top edge, but there is a lot of pipework in the way.

You should have a sticker like this one on the boot floor under the carpet and also in the service book.

The engine code for the car that this sticker was on (It's my old Toledo) is ARL, which you can see quite prominently

Here is a sequence of shots of the engine number location on my previous diesel Toledo - and even on the ASV engine it's hard to see.

The engine number will be of the form CCCddddd where CCC is the engine code (probably ARL for you) and ddddd is the engine serial number
