slowing down for winter

olrite, my car is doing my head in. (as usual)
it seems to be losing power, somedays its happy as hell revving to 5 grand
then other days it feels like its struggling.
ive give it service everytime its asked for it.
all belts and oils are done.
changed spark plugs and coil packs

im thinking it could be the battery getting old now. considering it hasnt had one in 5 years?

Doesn't diesel have to get heated?

If you have a tank of cold diesel, it won't be so warm?

Coil packs and 5 grand tell me it's a petrol. I would be thinking that maybe it's the MAF that is causing your problems.

would that not bring up the engine management light tho?
and my last light showed intermittent fuel fault would the MAF cause this aswell?

I think so yeah, do a search for MAF and read up.

You would only get a CEL if the MAF was dead, not if it was failing.

might have to be a seat jobbie or just replace it anyway surely it wont cost that much?

Battery and alternator generally only affect cars on start up i think, try looking at coil pack/spark plugs, or even things like the air filter
