Alright chaps,

Need a bit of advice, need to top up the oil on my 2001 Ibiza Cupra, what can people recommend, according to the previous owner Mobil 1 10w 40 of some sort was used last, now I would usually go to GSF and get what they recommend for that vehicle in the past but that was on not very high performance motor's so I did not worry too much, is there anything I should use inparticular? It is only a see me through till after christmas it will then get a full service with the best stuff possible, just dont want to let it run low.

Appreciate any help! :)

Dane.

5w40 or 10w40 fully synth.

www.opieoils.co.uk

Motul 300V, Silkolene Pro-S and Millers Competition oils are widely considered the best as they are ester based

Thank's mate, would you say im alright going with some 10w40 fully synth from GSF to top it up for now, then I shall go for one of the recommended come new year when I give her a full service

There is pages of info on what oil people use. aswell as almost everything else.

Somtimes people dont use the right words in the search which is why they dont yeald the results thats all.

And it takes 4.5 litres if using a new oil filter as i can see this question coming next.

Firstly if you are going to "have a go" at me, please have the decency to use proper English along with the correct grammar.

Now admittedly the last few threads that I have commented on I have told people to use the search button. The reason for this is that I took it upon myself to search for what they were asking, and I found many threads already started and answered on the same things. Therefore I thought it was fair to think that if they had searched that they would have come across the threads which I did answering their original post, therefore saving not only the time of the original poster, but also the effort of others.

I have no problem if someone has actually searched and can’t find the answer, my problem is when people say that they have searched and when clearly they haven’t because when I search for the very same thing I find pages after pages with relevant information.

Please don’t think that all I do is have a go at people, as that’s not what im trying to do.
